We are committed to ensuring everyone that works for Shell goes home safe every single day. Shell, some of our Joint Ventures and Portfolio Companies came together this week during the Safety Summit in Amsterdam to affirm our support of the safety collaboration charter: • In safety, we have shared goals, and we believe in the power of partnership. We seek opportunities to work together and innovate towards those common goals. • We believe that collaboration on safety is a key pillar for improvement. • We acknowledge that our front-line workers are at the heart of our safety performance. • As we embrace our industry’s efforts on worker welfare, we believe that welfare of our workers is vital to enable them to safely perform at their best. • We agree that Industry standards developed by organisations such as IOGP and Energy Institute can bring best practices and learnings that help drive sustainable improvements across the value chain. • We recognise the enormous potential of technology and digitalisation to enhance safety performance. • We will dedicate time and effort to connect periodically on safety to share learnings and good practices, as we continue to make our organisations and communities a safer place for all. Once a brown coal mine, projects like the Witznitz solar park near Leipzig in Germany are helping Europe to transition to a lower carbon energy system. Made up of a million modules, the project is owned by HANSAINVEST Real Assets GmbH and will be Germany’s largest solar project when fully operational at the start of 2024. Shell’s European power trading business has agreed to offtake the majority of power generated by the park for 15 years, enabling us to deliver more renewable power to the European market.

To meet Vietnam’s rapidly increasing demand for electricity in its towns and villages and to power its global manufacturing industry, the country is turning to natural gas imports. In July, Shell was proud to deliver the first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to commission Vietnam’s new LNG regasification terminal. Today, for an increasing number of countries, LNG imports are needed to generate sufficient electricity and enable them to reduce reliance on coal, notably in Asia. In 2023, Shell also delivered its first cargoes to the Philippines and Hong Kong. The LNG delivered will help supplement limited domestic resources and enable gas to play an important role in providing the lower-carbon electricity that these communities need. Gas is also helping to progress a balanced energy transition in other regions. For example, last month, Shell signed a long-term agreement to supply gas to the Kingdom of Morocco.
