In October, we will discuss this popular contemporary book: Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto.
It is a short story about a young protagonist who had lost her only relative and struggled to recover from the loss. Through the unique situation afterward, she was touched by the kind heart in people and started to accept her new life...
It’s a great book to feel the sensitive & changeable emotions of the modern day people, and to take a look at ordinary things in Tokyo described beautifully through the eye of the heroine.
Since it was first published in 1988, it’s been read by millions of people across the world. It was also adapted into movies.
