Am I about to burn my house down? (self.HomeMaintenance)

I'm installing a ceiling light fixture that only has a hot and neutral wire, but my electrical box also has a ground wire, and I'm wondering what to do with it. As far as I can tell, the electrical box is metal, so I attached it to the grounding screw in the fixture's mounting plate. Is it ok like that? Do I need to wrap the ground wire in electrical tape to insulate it?

No you are not going to burn your house down. No you don't have to insulate the ground wire

No you are not, but why did they give you 3 wire nuts if there was no ground wire? LOL

It has been my experience that sometimes they give you A separate ground wire in a form of a ring and copper wire. It might have been not sent by supplier or something.

I did a fan last weekend that the hound wire only connected to the mounting bracket, but they had a pigtail wire attached to it.
