Leaking Skylight

Hello All.

I've got leaking skylights in my house. At first I thought it was a leaky roof so I had a handyman seal all the lights and shingles that could be an issue. A few days later the skylight in the bathroom and bed room were dripping black water even though it wasn't raining. It makes me think it is an insulation issue. My roof is a hot roof and the skylights seem to be sprayed with foam well enough. My handyman recommended putting in a ridge vent in that would create circulation and reduce any condensation. Anyone have experience with this solution. I've attached photos of the offending windows. Any and all thoughts are greatly appreciated.

For condensation issues adding ventilation is always everyone’s first idea and rarely the solution. The issue is warm moist air from the house contacting cold dry air from outside. Adding ventilation can actually draw more air from inside your house. Best to do a good air seal at the interior and insulate well to prevent air flow in the area.

It looks like there is condensation on the window. Maybe the humidity is too high in your house.

Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity. I always hear “we removed insulation to let it breathe.” Yeah well that isn’t how that works… rarely do you hear people say they air sealed something

Advice needed! We've painted the walls with «northern green», and now we're contemplating whether or not to paint the window frames in 1) green 2) darker wood 3) white-ish, and whether or not to paint the roof in 1) green or 2) white-ish. See pic 3 for floor
