Aaahhh fresh schnoodle is like water on a hot day.

[–]Matt_Sterbate710 551 points552 points  (2 children)

In all the shit going on in the world... it really is bro. I love seeing new Schnoodle’s. I had the chance of catching one really fresh one day and getting a response from the legend.

Seriously though, it always brightens my day to see a fresh one. And knowing it brightens others days make my day even brighter!

[–]Yoyosten 95 points96 points  (1 child)

I remember my first time (w/reply).

It's like I had just been laid down on a massage table, the masseuse oiled up my back/shoulders and was just hitting all the right spots. They finish up and I tell them "That massage really slapped". I looked up to see Schnoodle standing there beside me rinsing the oil from their hands. With a warm smile on their face they replied "I know". They dried their hands, kicked on the sauna and I was enveloped by warmth, expelling the stress of my day like sweat thru pores.

[–]5krishnan 36 points37 points  (4 children)

Is a schnoodle like a poem for your sprog?

[–]audible_narrator 34 points35 points  (0 children)

But with love.

[–]Ohhiitsmeyagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]peripatetic6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the all time great schnoodles.

[–]De5perad0 93 points94 points  (3 children)

Dont forget to 5S. 5S is the key to a safe pupplace:

[–]ICPGr8Milenko 41 points42 points  (2 children)

A little disappointed. I was expecting sodge, suck, sip, sive, sodge.

[–]randomusername1919 3 points4 points  (1 child)

No, you can’t sodge twice.

[–]I_WRESTLE_BEARS_AMA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can sodge a wrench, you can sodge a ball

[–]greendazexx 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Just wanted to say I love your username

[–]MaxBanter45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont forget the heirachy of control, have you tried eliminating the park, or substitution

[–]jber43 2560 points2561 points  (43 children)

Zoom into the dogs goggles and you can see the greatest dog picture taking trick of all time. One mans the camera, the other holds the treat.

[–]Playbook420 152 points153 points  (5 children)

[–]Drag0nslay3r6969 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Ah yes the good old days

[–]BigGuy4UUUUU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to go back

[–]lizzyd08 307 points308 points  (0 children)

I didn't notice that! That's pretty cool!

[–]gallimaufrys 137 points138 points  (1 child)

This is the only way we ever get semi decent photos of our chaos boys

[–]pasciiii 37 points38 points  (4 children)

Of course holding a treat! I just saw the other man snapping his fingers and was wondering, does that even work on dogs?

[–]Lallo-the-Long 15 points16 points  (2 children)

My dog responds to a snap in the sense that he looks at me when i do it. Sometimes i think he gets so absorbed in smells that the rest of the world fades from his awareness somewhat. Like a stoner doing a simple repetitive task.

[–]seedlio 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I feel personally attacked

[–]Princykiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reg stoners example is it? Me too personally attacked there...

[–]Duosion 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s how I get the picture after I do a dog bath! Hold a treat up and make a funny noise, usually does the trick for a good report card photo.

[–]GrainisObtained 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played like a fiddle

[–]yuboutg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol I am guilty of this as well. Good trick, would recommend.

[–]crazymoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought that was michael myers for some reason

[–]heylookoverthereman 13 points14 points  (5 children)

Still not working great though

[–]patroniton 30 points31 points  (2 children)

What do you mean? The dog's sitting there like a good boy looking at the treat.

[–]heylookoverthereman 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Dogs a good boy but he’s looking at something on the counter. The treat is right by the camera and he’s def not looking at the camera

[–]Question_Control24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, at least from my experience, my dog doesn't mind wearing the goggles as long as he is being kept busy with something else. It takes quite a bit of training before they get use to it and don't try to take it off the second they have any down time.

[–]IamJAd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rex Specs!

[–]Cornwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally did that and saw. Well spotted!

[–]weest_morge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha ha nice catch

[–]Amardella 180 points181 points  (19 children)

Is he a Toller? So cute in his "doggles".

[–]FormerLadyKing 35 points36 points  (4 children)

I'm guessing so, really beautiful dogs

[–]RiotGrrr1 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Yeah but they're nothing but trouble (I have one).

[–]MShep622 26 points27 points  (7 children)

Yeah, that’s a toller. Great dogs!

[–]Oreganoian 30 points31 points  (6 children)

Great dogs if you're active enough for them.

Tollers requires hours of play time and mental stimulation every single day. They need jobs and tasks, along with stimulating toys.

[–]bspence13 16 points17 points  (3 children)

I must have a ‘broken’ Toller! Haha, our pup is either sleeping, eating or napping.

[–]platform9andsix8ths 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Toller is very laid back as well. You hardly even know he's around most of the time!

[–]MShep622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our boy has an excellent off switch too

[–]MShep622 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Between agility, dock diving, barn hunt, and possibly field trials ours is good to go lol (includes fetch/walks/etc).

[–]cosmicosmo4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or just live in a house on a big slope so you can cheat by standing at the top and throwing the bumper down the hill.

[–]emnm47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rex specs!

[–]redditter619 556 points557 points  (6 children)

Lol any footage of him running into stuff wearing his new gear?

[–]iracilv7307 89 points90 points  (4 children)

Yesss! I want to see him running around in this

[–]graywalrus 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Agreed! I wanna see the Toller in action.

[–]EebamXela 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only comment that should be getting upvotes.

[–]vailrider29 125 points126 points  (4 children)

Good move! My lab mutt did the same chasing tennis balls. Then one day, sticker bush. She had to have surgery to remove a barb that went directly into her eye. Wonderful doc, it was small enough it didn’t blind her (unsure how much if any it affected her vision though). I can assure those goggles cost SO much less than surgery did!!!

[–]dreamer00013 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Same here! Small pupper ran into something that punctured her eye. $2,800 later...but worth every cent since it saved her eye. Thank goodness for CareCredit!

[–]Hambulance 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Dude, we have been dealing with a dog in a cone for like almost a month. Ran into a bush and now he can't produce tears in that eye (or nostril). He's on four eye drops a day and we have to wipe this awful crust from his eye everyday.

The poor little guy. We just feel so bad for him. Next step is surgery to potentially reroute a salivary gland the eye?!

It's a nightmare. How long did all your little one's stuff last?

[–]Slurpee_12 569 points570 points  (17 children)

[–]Leggoman31[S] 268 points269 points  (12 children)

There's a subreddit for everything eh? 😂

[–]GhostDogThing 55 points56 points  (8 children)

at this point, im surprised if there isn't one for something

[–]bipnoodooshup 51 points52 points  (6 children)

Edit: well damn I guess there isn’t one for something

[–]GhostDogThing 19 points20 points  (2 children)

now that's something to be surprised about

[–]gsfgf 4 points5 points  (2 children)

It exists but is private. There's no way any English word isn't already claimed.

[–]bipnoodooshup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: You’re right this one actually says it doesn’t exist on Apollo, but the other one just had loading icon

[–]redditrum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already you should get his eyes checked for cataracts. My dog was doing this and i started to notice a little cloudiness in his eyes. He developed them pretty quickly and eventually became fully blind.

[–]jber43 62 points63 points  (1 child)

Tollers go hard, my friend... well done.

[–]jaierauj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When prey drive is life.

[–]03af 22 points23 points  (7 children)

Is that a nova scotia duck tolling retriever?

[–]bbsittrr 7 points8 points  (6 children)

OP confirms.

Had one, a rescue, had no idea for a year or two.

[–]03af 5 points6 points  (5 children)

I had one as well, ball fetching machine.

[–]bbsittrr 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Loves snow? Ours would go nuts for snow.

[–]03af 4 points5 points  (3 children)

He did like the snow, hated the rain. We live in the Pacific NW so that was a problem for him. He would hold it for hours till the rain stopped or just rush out at high speed. I had to stand at the back door like an aircraft carrier waiting to catch a jet before he jumped on the couch with wet feet.

[–]bbsittrr 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I had to stand at the back door like an aircraft carrier waiting to catch a jet

"Call the ball, Maverick".

So wet, slippery, high speed, and dirty. How's the couch now?

After bath zoomies, the couch was a bounce stop: run at full speed, jump up, fly, bounce off back cushions of couch, zoom to nice clean kid's beds and roll around.

[–]03af 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My now wife said the couch had to go when we moved in together. She kept the dog and me so...

[–]bbsittrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She kept the dog and me so...

You did good!

[–]Elisco1 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Light speed here we come.

[–]billy_bland 34 points35 points  (8 children)

My dog needs this to prevent conjunctivitis.

[–]tyRAWRnnosaurus 44 points45 points  (3 children)

Our dog has Rex Specs and they work well for her!

[–]theschwill 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Every dog owner should be doing this. Injuries from road debris to the eyes are not uncommon.

[–]tyRAWRnnosaurus 6 points7 points  (1 child)

She's v precious cargo! And she makes pedestrians smile when we drive by, which is a bonus.

[–]peekoooz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would make my day to drive past this. Absolutely worth it in every way.

[–]Leggoman31[S] 47 points48 points  (2 children)

They make em custom it wasn't the easiest thing to find. I'm sure you could find it somewhere though

[–]tinacat933 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Hope you noticed you got a schnoodle in this thread

[–]TritriMcTritri 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Check out Rex Specs. They work for most dogs.

[–]De5perad0 35 points36 points  (0 children)

We must see a video of Hunter running into sticks and branches.

[–]tv64738 32 points33 points  (2 children)

He might be slowly going blind. Ask your vet the next time you visit.

Our previous dog went blind in his older years. At first, you couldn't really tell, he just seemed clumsier. Then he started walking into corners if there wasn't enough contrast there (white wall in the foreground, white wall in the background). A year later he couldn't see even light/dark changes. He still found his favorite sunbeam by feeling the heat on his back, and ran around by echolocation (I kid you not!). He adjusted well and lived a happy life, but us knowing what's going on helped the transition, and regularly monitoring eye pressure is crucial to avoid agonizing pain.

[–]Purple_peas 19 points20 points  (0 children)

[–]mikeo999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You go Hunter. My little girl, she been gone a while but not forgotten, would run into metal light poles when we where running always made a hollow ringing noise. Wasn't sure if it was the pole or her head.

[–]maedsch 8 points9 points  (5 children)

What breed is this?!

[–]MShep622 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Nova Scotia duck rolling retriever, aka “Toller”

[–]bbsittrr 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Got a Duck Toller as a rescue. Thought she was a border collie-lab mix.

At dog beach, Canadians tourists come up, say "Where'd you get a Duck Toller eh" in Canadian accent. I had no idea what they were talking about. I said "she's a mutt".

They said "oh no, she's a Nova Scotia Duck Toller, and a beauty".

Got home, looked up Duck Toller, it was her to a T:

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers are known to be very intelligent, curious, alert, outgoing, and high-energy dogs.[9] They are affectionate, eager to please, busy, and get along well with children.

And understatement. Loved the kids. Tried to follow them to school.

Their keen sense of smell, intelligence, drive for work, and small size make them perfect search and rescue dogs.

This is why I thought she was part Border Collie, the high IQ and energy.

"Release the Hound" (kids run and hide, she finds them) was her favorite game, and she was world champion.

While Tollers are energetic and outgoing around their owners and family, their cautious nature makes them reserved around strangers.

In summary, the duck toller:

[–]platform9andsix8ths 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I adopted my "lab x husky" without knowing what a Toller was. I kept getting comments about having a lovely Toller when we were out for walks. Did some Googling, and that's definitely what he is. Incidentally enough, I live in Nova Scotia.

[–]bbsittrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incidentally enough, I live in Nova Scotia.

I had to ask the very nice Canadian people to spell "toller", I had no idea what it meant, hadn't heard the word before, it just didn't register.

They assured me she was no Mutt, so I did look up the breed, and there she was, exactly.

I adopted my "lab x husky"

Yours likes to wander at times, like a Husky? Ours wanted to.

[–]DJSalTNutz31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Safety First Hunter!!!

[–]Mirabolis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A Snoopy the Red Baron hat and scarf would really complete the ensemble...

[–]teslaslefttesticle 4 points5 points  (1 child)

[–]TheFenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Throwing sticks is a bad idea in general, they can get horrible stick injuries sometimes.

[–]rjmueller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well that looks heckin safe. Good luck, Hunter!

[–]RDSCTA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love his "OK PARK PROTECTION ISS ON, LET'S GO!" expression!

[–]Just_A_Doorknob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He looks like someone with a habit of bamboozling others

[–]TheCreativeReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The age limit is a number

Edit: frick, wrong post

[–]jow97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't suppose he is a Toller?

[–]MrMurse93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a nurse, I don’t think I will ever get used to the fact that PPE is now a common term used by everyone.

[–]willowgrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10/10 for enthusiasm. 12/10 for pulling that look off!!!

[–]B3eenthehedges 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still be careful, try to work with him on it. Really a dog park shouldn't have a lot of sticks and branches with dogs running and playing.

I say this because my dog once ran into branches after a tennis ball, and ended up with a big one stuck into his leg, requiring several stitches.

[–]mhks 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Duck Tolling? How do you like the breed?

[–]grilledcakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pawsonal poochtection equipment.

[–]Aturom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He looks like he's about to make a movie called Pup Point Break.

[–]Crushbam3 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hunter bout to sky hook over us all

[–]DocHolloday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m ready for adventure now guys!

[–]ArrogantWiizard 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I hope this joke wasn't made....

He's wearing.....Doggles

[–]Nyckname 2 points3 points  (3 children)

You're the ninth to mention them.

[–]CmdrMcLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a cute Toller!!!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That mattress worries me.

[–]Namasiel 1 point2 points  (1 child)

NSDTR? He's super cute in his little doggles! (⊙‿⊙)

Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever? Beautiful dog.

[–]vadreamer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hunter is lucky to have you!

[–]Areuexp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. You can see them holding a treat up in the reflection to keep him focused for the pic. Well done!

[–]Just_A_Regular_Mouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Runs into a branch too hard- Orange was Not the impostor

[–]TheJosh96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do dogs look so silly and cute when they are wearing human things.

[–]TardisDance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a post about how some dogs tend to get grass seeds stuck in their ears too. It sounds like an expensive vet bill to remove a grass seed. I don’t have a dog myself but would totally add ear muffs to the PPE in addition to the googles LOL

[–]foh242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very appropriate name for a toller.

[–]jumpman794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even know the dog, but I love him

[–]Thanethechosen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He looks like an Among Us jellybean

[–]Nearby_Principle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unreal, definitely saw this guy at the dog park today!

[–]freckles_nofilter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]bojankowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is literally the cutest thing I've seen all day. Thanks!

[–]Yougotsiked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have never believed eye injuries could be common from running with dogs, but it happened to mine. His top film of his eyes ripped halfway off one day at the dog park. He didn’t care though and kept running. This was years ago. Sometimes I wonder if he’s still running.

[–]BakaRed77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bravo-6 going bark

[–]keepers1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What brand are his goggles? Also, have you tried sunglasses on him? I want to buy my dog googles, and sunglasses... so I'm looking for recommendations.

EDIT: Posters stated that the brand is Doggles. Yay thanks!

[–]ContinuumGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doggle Goggles

[–]LikeTheFruit617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]DogBot82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s adorable.

[–]Pheebers713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually really smart! My Boston almost had to have his eye removed bc he scratched it so bad when he stuck his head in a bail of hay.

[–]keepinitoldskool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think when Darwin wrote "I am very poorly today and very stupid and hate everybody and everything.", he must have just seen something like this.

Thanks schnoodle, always get a smile from your posts.

[–]Secretdoggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bravo six, going bark.

[–]Aithyne 1 point2 points  (5 children)

He's adorable! He looks a lot like my dog. Do you know what his breed is?

[–]Tbhirnewtumtyvm 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Looks like a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

[–]Aithyne 1 point2 points  (3 children)

That's what we think my dog is. We got her from the shelter 10 years ago.

[–]Tbhirnewtumtyvm 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Oh sweet! They're often described as border collies on valium, much more relaxed

[–]DirtiestD90 1 point2 points  (1 child)

He’s a twin of my dog Leia! Do you know what kind he is?

[–]HeinousFulcrum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retreiver.

[–]Deviant_Interface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw him vent

[–]Dr_Schitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He got his doggles on..

[–]Nightwolf828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tactical doggie 🐶

[–]Stickmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple things to think about. Check his automatic reflexes. Touching his whiskers shoukd automatically get him to close his eyes as a reflex. Work on proprioception (body awareness). Take treats to the park. Reward calmer behaviour as food slows and stpps production of adrenaline. These are things you could try on top of the great management of the doggles.

[–]killerlambchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunter is ready to get zoomin’
