I'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with Fleury. We won't ever have sex, but there will be a simmering erotic undercurrent as I stand in the kitchen window watching him tighten his ass as he chops wood, shirtless, sweat pouring off his body. I'll run upstairs and masturbate, the entire time forcing myself to think of women while my thoughts drift back to Fleury. I won't be able to climax and I'll eventually go back downstairs, angry. Sometimes we will look across the table and catch each other's eyes, and in that second, anything is possible, but we both deny ourselves and go back to what we were doing. One day one of us will die, and the other will bury him outside the log cabin. Then he'll go inside, pen a brief missive to his departed friend, and commit suicide, never able to deal with life without his one true platonic love.

Some of the racist comments Kadri received after the Avs lost, posted by his wife. You can hate a player after a loss, sure, but there is no place for this. by -insignificant-TOR - NHL in hockey

I can’t even understand how people are disagreeing with you. Racism clearly isn’t tolerated in society today, idk why these guys act like it is. They want racism to end but won’t admit that it’s not tolerated today. Makes no sense.

[Granger] DeBoer- “For me, Ryan Reaves is one of the cleanest tough guys I’ve seen in the league in my 12, 13 years. He’s consistently a clean, physical player.” On last night’s incident he said Reaves’ gloves never came off, nobody was hurt on the play and that it’s up to DoPS now. by DecentLurker96 in hockey

After ten long years, they let him out of the home.

"Excitable boy", they all said.

Then he dug up her grave, and built a cage with her bones.

"Excitable boy," they all said.

"Well he's just an excitable boy".

2 issues with this argument. First is that the summer olympics draw a far larger audience and reach a greater amount of people than the winter olympics do. More people watching=more potential to grow games. In addition the NBA is giving up far fewer assets and is not giving up apart of its season. The NBA only takes on risk of losing assets in the offseason which could be a marginal increase compared to a normal offseason. The NHL takes a risk on its assets, gives up regular season games, special event games and all star games. It is giving up revenue and is taking on risk for exposure that does not come near what the summer olympics provide.

Secondly like mind_geek said is that viewership growth is not linear. Just because one year increased viewership because you went to the olympics does not mean you get the same growth for the next olympics. The NHL has put in 5 olympic games already and could very well see diminishing returns at this point. Would you risk your assets, give up multiple revenue streams just for a shot at a potential marginal increase in viewership?

Not really. Fourth round wins in Tampa happen more often.

Edit: Thanks for the gold, kind stranger!

The Boston Bruins have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs after losing to the New York Islanders in 6 games by EliminatorBot in hockey

Yeah but your statements are still 180° apart. Allow me to fix it for you:

This is New England. We bitch about the refs when we don't win a championship. The refs lost 3 games for us early and are directly responsible for the Bruins' dogshit PK. It was a fucking travesty because the Bruins and Patriots have literally never gotten the benefit of bad calls against the opposition in a playoff game. Every time they've had to overcome the refs which everyone in New England agrees with and complains about together
