Really thought he had a mask on at the beginning

[–]iWentRogue 2112 points2113 points  (195 children)

His mother/wife/sister/grandmother that was recording had one of those semi compliant masks.

[–]Bburgdan 2242 points2243 points  (181 children)

She was actually all 4 of those

[–]Yeazelicious 1606 points1607 points 32 (166 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong here:

So just being his wife is easy. He just has to marry her; no problems there.

Also being his mother means she has to have given birth to and married him. Gross, but no logistical problems so far – as far as causality goes.

Also also being his sister means that she has to have been impregnated by her dad, given birth to him, and married him. Completely disgusting, and a little out there, but causality still applies.

Also also also being his grandmother means that she has to have given birth to herself, then her birthed self would have had to be impregnated by her father, given birth to him, and married him. Causality has been violated in this hypothetical incestuous slurry of a gene pool.

[–]hendergle 441 points442 points  (29 children)

You forgot about time travel. Send her back 30 years, have her give birth to her dad, and then bring her back forward in time to be impregnated by him.

[–]Alestor 61 points62 points  (18 children)

You forgot about the possibility that she was his fathers mother and his mother and his wife. Causality has been sated

[–]Yeazelicious 25 points26 points  (16 children)

You forgot about the possibility that she was his fathers mother and his mother and his wife.

If she gave birth to his father, then was impregnated by said father and gave birth to him and married him, then she would be his wife, mother, and grandmother, but then there's strictly no way she could also be his sister.

The wife part is trivial for any of these combinations, and you can have:

  • Sister + mother (aforementioned)
  • Sister + grandmother
  • Mother + grandmother (aforementioned)

But I don't believe you can have sister + mother + grandmother.

Edit: I guess sister + grandmother isn't actually possible, and that's the snag that makes all three simultaneously also impossible.

[–]StankerVision17 1639 points1640 points  (13 children)

It's one of those masks with your face on it. He had one on the whole time..

[–]EmoJackson 2570 points2571 points  (120 children)

Why wasn’t the big gal asked to leave... she had a mask on, but not over her nose and mouth.

[–]Viiibrations 1146 points1147 points  (41 children)

What she did was honestly worse than what he was doing. At least he wasn't moving around while yelling and spreading his germs across the entire room.

[–]BreweryBuddha 203 points204 points  (1 child)

I would assume she was wearing the mask at some point, he was openly refusing, the issue escalated, she lowered her mask in semi-defiance and to defend him, but at that point the officers had been brought in to deal with the main jackass.

[–]Bodmonriddlz 117 points118 points  (30 children)

You can’t deny, she had some truth at the end. They don’t have the balls to cancel football

[–]marenmorgan 34 points35 points  (12 children)

Yep this is my town I grew up in they canceled everything but the sports all summer and fall . So kids weren’t in school but did all sports all summer .

[–]smiles_and_cries 1205 points1206 points  (39 children)

[–]Cerulean_Shades 464 points465 points  (29 children)

[–]one_is_enough 152 points153 points  (5 children)

She only got brave because she knew the cops were occupied. Sat her lard ass down right about when she couldn't be sure they wouldn't walk back in. Also, she was out of breath and had to sit down.

He’s got himself trespassing resisting arrest assaulting an officer resisting arrest again and he still thinks that he’s the hero. What kind of peanut sized brain do you have to have to act like that. (edit: actually I could see him getting two charges for assaulting an officer since he hit the big guy and then grabbed on to the other guys vest) Bless these officers for need to put up with people like this all day

[–]TheOneManRiot 794 points795 points  (232 children)

He’s got himself trespassing resisting arrest assaulting an officer resisting arrest again

Nah, I would almost guarantee they let him go free as soon as he got outside.

EDIT: LOL why was I downvoted?

EDIT: I was right.

Video of the incident caught Bender arguing and starting to resist arrest before he complied with police. Bender was not arrested or charged, police say.

[–]harrumphstan 937 points938 points  (199 children)

Could you imagine what would’ve happened to a black man his size? And people say there’s no white privilege; people like the anti-masker asshole in the video.

[–]exceptAcceptance 473 points474 points 2 (35 children)

I can’t say what the cops would’ve done had he been black, nor about this guy specifically, but I’m willing to bet that most people on his side have, at one point when a black man was shot, said the words, “well why did he try arguing with the cops? He should’ve just complied.”

[–]HR_Dragonfly 85 points86 points  (1 child)

"Sumbitch, you are going to special jail."

[–]Ultra_dc 11.0k points11.0k points  (1395 children)

What was the minority comment about? That really confused me.

[–]MildlyAdversarial 5159 points5160 points  (983 children)

For real, I thought he was about to go on a racist rant and say something along the lines of "A minority telling a white man what to do??"

[–]Fullertonjr 4403 points4404 points  (918 children)

He was trying to instigate a negative reaction out of the cop. He wanted to be the mask-less hero that so many people want to be. Wonder if he was charged with resisting arrest or assaulting a police officer.

[–]1LT_0bvious 1946 points1947 points  (625 children)

[–]YouMissedTheHole 3474 points3475 points  (408 children)

Wow I grab a police officer like that it would be bullets.

[–]Spook404 2277 points2278 points 2 (331 children)

I mean this video shows how situations are supposed to be handled by cops, with as much restraint as possible.

Edit: glad I helped someone I guess. good job on the... cop...ing?

[–]ManyWrangler 1978 points1979 points  (276 children)

I wonder what it was about the suspect that made the cop show restraint...

[–]seXJ69 3369 points3370 points 222& 6 more (154 children)

I can't qwhite put my finger on it.

Edit: Holy shit, thank you everybody!

[–]AMerryCanDo 1461 points1462 points  (55 children)

Sounds about white to me.

[–]KillerBunnyZombie 333 points334 points  (25 children)

Sad, wish they had thrown the book at the fucking idiot.

[–]minahmyu 237 points238 points  (48 children)

He... He begged for it, and didn't get arrested while we have so many innocent people out there getting gunned down.

[–]rickyspanish12345 205 points206 points  (11 children)

My neighbor made an attempt as the maskless hero in Vegas this weekend when he refused to wear a mask in the casino. He was honestly surprised when he was escorted out by five security officers and threatened with arrest for trespassing if he returned.

[–]The_BrownRecluse 596 points597 points  (22 children)

No he's trying to appeal to the cop's sense of injustice by equating mask mandates with minority persecution. He thinks they're the same thing, that he's experiencing the same level of discrimination that minorities experience because he's being told to wear a fucking mask.

[–]Fr0ski 186 points187 points  (7 children)

That'd just piss me off even more if it was me in the cops shoes.

[–]sjmiv 1093 points1094 points  (84 children)

They should be able to charge him with trespassing, resisting and assault. If he gets convicted for assaulting a cop his job prospects just got a lot smaller. Stupid hill to stand on.

[–]paulcthemantosee 439 points440 points  (13 children)

He's already got his flip flops on for the jail shower.

[–]tkrego 86 points87 points  (5 children)

Flip flops and swim trunks. What a douche canoe.

[–]mrbottomtooth 563 points564 points  (118 children)

Yeah, he grabbed at the smaller cop. Should've been tased. And we also had cow Karen later, babbling on about sports.

[–]EvilTomte 327 points328 points  (21 children)

The way she stood there with her mask off. So dumb.

[–]mofongoDorado 176 points177 points  (14 children)

I was waiting for someone to tell her about the mask...

[–]cstmx 164 points165 points  (9 children)

I was waiting for someone to lead her out of the room with a twinkie

[–]laughingasian14 292 points293 points  (18 children)

She should have been removed too she’s wearing her mask around her third chin not over her mouth or nose

[–]Kaiosama 48 points49 points  (3 children)

The irony is that she's in the most at risk group for death if she ever contracted covid.

A horrible one at that.

[–]kaptaintrips86 207 points208 points  (48 children)

Honestly, I was shocked that he was not tased. Lately, people have been tased and worse for a lot less than that.

[–]TurnPunchKick 139 points140 points  (11 children)

"Look what these whites are making you do yellow man. They only want you enforcing THIER rules. Not like me I am free. My mind is elevated. I and I alone know the truth. Join me yellow man and I will free you and we can defeat the oppressor."

[–]Finito-1994 58 points59 points  (5 children)

This is pretty much it. He’s essentially saying they’re turning the nice minority into stormtroopers.

[–]GlamRockDave 427 points428 points  (27 children)

I think in his own backwards way he was trying to show how progressive he is that we're "forcing minorities to do the government's bidding" kind of thing. He was really trying his hardest to pull off some bullshit magnanimity routine and try to make himself look like a level-headed victim, but he wasn't quick witted enough to figure out how to not sound like an idiot doing it.

I doubt he was trying to be overtly racist at that point and lose the crowd.

[–]regoapps 281 points282 points  (16 children)

East Asian here. That was a stupid line, because most East Asians wear masks. Playing the "minority" card is ridiculous because East Asians have a sense of community and would want to do what's possible to help the community - i.e. wear a mask to not unknowingly infect others with a deadly virus.

[–]Skimmmilk 198 points199 points  (9 children)

Asian here as well. Even before the virus my family and I have always worn masks when we were sick, simply out of courtesy so we don't get others sick especially while commuting in NYC. I am honestly baffled by how selfish people are being over a stupid mask during a pandemic. My extended family in Korea think I am over exaggerating when I tell them that people in America are protesting masks.

[–]Boomtowersdabbin 895 points896 points  (81 children)

Probably because he believes he is being oppressed by being forced to wear a mask. He finds irony in someone whose ancestors may have been oppressed, enforcing oppression.

[–]WimpyLimpet 501 points502 points  (54 children)

Except he's not being oppressed any more than he is when he wears a shirt or shoes into public.

[–]youseeitp 355 points356 points  (16 children)

Or is asked not to smoke inside because it may be HARMFUL TO OTHERS you piece of selfish, entitled trash.

[–]tagrav 111 points112 points  (7 children)

Oh man this gives me so many opportunities “would you just light up a cigarette in here? Why not? Oh it hurts other people? Oh it’s a law? Oh oh oh!”

[–]XtaC23 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I never knew how oppressed I was!!

[–]thebullofthemorning 95 points96 points  (9 children)

“Look bro, we’re both minorities. You’re of Asian descent and I’m a drooling moron.”

[–]AustinJG 59 points60 points  (7 children)

Drooling morons are not a minority in the US.

[–]TraditionalContest6 499 points500 points  (56 children)

whats the confusion, he didn't like the fact an Asian was detaining him. he was a good cop, could have easily went for the taze. good restraint

[–]PM_ME_UR_RESPECT 136 points137 points  (5 children)

You expect an anti-masker to make sense?

[–]piggydancer 6150 points6151 points  (114 children)

"You're sowing discord"

[–]mochibelli 2569 points2570 points  (47 children)

“You should be embarrassed!!”

Screams the woman being embarrassing

[–]piggydancer 784 points785 points  (30 children)

I was confused whose side she was on until the end. Because it was like yes, I agree with you...oh wait you didn't mean him.

[–]mochibelli 433 points434 points  (20 children)

Same!! I thought she was yelling that at him. Trying to flip the mirror on him to realize what he’s actually saying, make him realize hygienic practices (like a mask) aren’t ... oppressive. Lmao. Nah, they’re all. Just. So. Fucking. embarrassing.

[–]itwasquiteawhileago 199 points200 points  (11 children)

I was also confused. Even more so because she didn't have her mask on. Like, what the fuck? Then it all clicked. She's also a selfish moron. Should have hauled her ass out, too. Jesus fuck people, just wear the fucking masks and this shit might go away. It's like my five year old. She complains and cries for what feels like hours about getting dressed or brushing teeth, etc. Just fucking do it and we could be done already!

[–]From_Deep_Space 52 points53 points  (8 children)

they would had to have called for back up to drag her out

[–]mochibelli 77 points78 points  (7 children)

As a fat woman, I’d just recommend a wheelbarrow.

Once we’d start flailing our weight around, we’d loose proprioception, while also suddenly in sudden shock of situation. Flop over in less than 60seconds.

Roll ‘er in. Roll ‘er out.

[–]itwasquiteawhileago 30 points31 points  (6 children)

I had to look that word up. This is why I'm here: to learn.

[–]imalittlefrenchpress 57 points58 points  (1 child)

I think there was a child in the back on the right. A girl around 11, with long hair. She looks like a child to me.

If so, that makes these people a million times worse in every friggin way.

[–]eLishus 207 points208 points  (12 children)

Pretty much every one of his arguments was "see what you're doing?!?". No, sir....you're the one who's doing those things.

[–]LadyPo 144 points145 points  (9 children)

He’s being extremely overly dramatic. It’s like he’s hoping to become some kind of petty martyr for antimaskers, especially with the lady filming. How much do you want to bet that he bragged about it on Facebook after the fact talking about how oppressive the gov is? Worldstar, I guess....

[–]eLishus 63 points64 points  (4 children)

He’s also twisting the words of the officer to fit his own narrative. “See, you don’t want to do it”. What the officer is saying is “I don’t want to forcefully drag you out of here” but the “martyr” is interpreting and repeating it as “I don’t want to enforce these mask rules”

[–]Malt___Disney 90 points91 points  (18 children)

Oh great. They didn’t even charge him with anything. No lesson learned there. This will just empower him and give him more confidence to escalate further next time.

[–]hperrin 1162 points1163 points  (125 children)

Well he was only trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer on camera. They don’t have much to go on.

I'm whiter than freshly driven snow and even I can see the double treatment here. The moment he starts arresting and reaching for the asian guys belt and they don't put him down I was just like.... holy fuck. So someone walks to their car and its 7 in the back but you literally reach for a gun and its all cool.

    [–]Juicebox-shakur 190 points191 points  (40 children)

Police treat actual black and brown CHILDREN with less patience and regard than they did this white man.

Cop kept saying he didn't want to do this... Wonder how many times non-white "suspects" have had this said to them? Probably not many... Makes me sick.

    [–]onehitwondur 962 points963 points  (54 children)

I run a small cafe. Some of my regulars are local LEOs (the cafe is like a quarter mile from the police station).

One of the guys is late twenties, ex military, and a really personable guy. Cracking jokes, saying hello to the locals, etc. Everytime one of the locals buys him coffee he gives me a fiver and tells me to put it towards the next person's order. All I'm trying to say is he's a good dude.

He came in one day kind of laughing because he had just mediated a dispute between a divorced couple. The dad had showed up ten minutes early to pick up his kid and mom was pissed and called the cops. Apparently dad got their ten minutes early because traffic was light due to covid.

I asked Officer Dude if that was normal and he just said, "90% of the calls we get are from people who just really need an adult to show up and handle it for them."

Anyway this vid reminded me of that story.

    [–]forhekset666 145 points146 points  (1 child)

I'm a security guard and it's basically the same deal - you're the professional adult and common sense enforcer most of the time.

    [–]SpencerWhite 77 points78 points  (3 children)

That’s a nice story. Really goes to show that the world might be different if people recognize their emotions for what they are and seek healthy outlets. Also if there wasn’t such a stigma and people didn’t feel the need to be emotionless tough guys that would help too.

    [–]Limmy92 3152 points3153 points  (67 children)

What is this? A morons anonymous meeting?

    [–]podslapper 1894 points1895 points  (42 children)

It's a school board meeting, which has historically been the same thing in my experience.

    [–]P0tat0eater 369 points370 points  (12 children)

I once went to a community garden meeting at a church. Seems innocent enough. It ended with grown ass people screaming at each other and crying. Even the pastor was screaming at people.

People get so worked up about something and then go to these kinds of meetings as an outlet. Yikes.

    [–]crastle 123 points124 points  (4 children)

    [–]wanderluster325 134 points135 points  (6 children)

Right? He says he understands, yet he acts like a complete tool in front of everyone and forces those officers to drag his sorry ass out of there. Furthermore, they should have snagged chunky Karen and her chin strap on the way out for not wearing her mask over her face holes as well.

    [–]InfrequentBlackshirt 524 points525 points  (51 children)

Minority descent.... what that gotta do with anything?

    [–]arronski_ 88 points89 points  (23 children)

I think he was alluding to cops mistreating minorities, and he was trying to say there's irony in a minority cop mistreating someone and the cop should be more understanding.

(I'm not endorsing this point of view, just saying I think this is what he meant. IMO the cop was pretty patient)

    [–]Danielle082 627 points628 points  (63 children)

If she did have COVID she'd die.

    [–]WimpyLimpet 249 points250 points  (20 children)

Maybe she's been lucky so far and protected by all the people around her who are smart enough to wear masks.

    [–]fuzzyblackyeti 182 points183 points  (18 children)

God I wish every day that the benefits of wearing masks was reversed.

I wish that wearing a mask protected you more than it protected other people because then these fucko anti-mask people could be in the hospital while the people that actually don't want to spread shit would be fine.

    [–]drot525 62 points63 points  (15 children)

If we had N95s, that'd be more likely the case. It blows me away that this country can't manufacture a couple billion 50 cent items. It's fabric, a bit of metal, bit of foam, bit of elastic/rubber. It's been 8 months since the govt's know about this.

    [–]greenops 24 points25 points  (8 children)

I only wear n95 mask at work. I work in a public university and today someone got on the elevator with me with a mask that had the center of it cut out and replaced with mesh see through fishnet. I was furious, in part because we can't do anything about it. Our campus police department has released a statement that they will not respond to calls about people not wearing mask and we have no one else to report it to.

    [–]newleafkratom 142 points143 points  (6 children)

Well I kinda agree with her last points with sports players huddling being allowed.

    [–]wolfdog410 358 points359 points  (11 children)

i kinda do too, but imo the logical conclusion to that line of thought would be to modify or cancel sports rather than allow that dude to go without a mask.

    [–]Sedela 115 points116 points  (3 children)

I would love if that becomes the result of her statement. "Because of your concern about the sports huddle, we are cancelling the season."

    [–]IQLTD 51 points52 points  (2 children)

    [–]Quesly 94 points95 points  (12 children)

yeah, they also shouldn't have sports. the only reason why professional sports are going is because they (supposedly) have put in strict standards to keep it going.

She knew they were not going to drag her out because according to union rules, 2 men can only lift 600 pounds without a fork lift.

Like a couple of toddlers not wanting to eat their broccoli.

    [–]Pure_Tower 643 points644 points 2 (18 children)

That woman hasn't seen broccoli since 1987.

    [–]Tokennnn11 3753 points3754 points  (164 children)

Fuck him and this large bitch

    [–]sofpha 1162 points1163 points  (38 children)

She should get kicked out too. She cant keep her mask up for shit.

    [–]JimDiego 498 points499 points  (21 children)

Hey now, she covered her chin a couple times.

    [–]AndromedaFire 289 points290 points  (4 children)

    Hey! That’s fucking wrong dude!

It’s chins should be plural and you know it.

    [–]pennycal 844 points845 points  (71 children)

    She is rather large

    [–]Gman147 656 points657 points  (33 children)

    She is isotropic

    [–]weirdgroovynerd 636 points637 points  (18 children)

having a physical property which has the same value when measured in different directions.

If you get it, you’d shut up and wear one

      [–]ash_tree 43 points44 points  (1 child)

Bold of you to assume they would even if they got it.

      [–]Jamooser 47 points48 points  (0 children)

"Ma'am, if you just calm down, we will kindly treat you to a garbage bag full of popcorn."

      [–]MartialBob 40 points41 points  (4 children)

I love how this guys clearly thinks he's smart and talks like what he says has some sort of great meaning when all he is just some idiot.

      [–]traderscience 463 points464 points  (48 children)

I kinda think the lady at the end has a point though. Shouldn't all group activities be banned, including sports?

      [–]GrandmaPoses 386 points387 points  (19 children)

They should, but she was using that example to try and make the opposite point.

      [–]Ston_35 39 points40 points  (10 children)

It was like that one guy during the Philly protests when he had the whole audience captured then started calling everyone N words

      [–]Gee3bus 1365 points1366 points  (169 children)

      He should have been tased

      [–]erakat 214 points215 points  (24 children)

I was hoping he’d give his colleague a heads up before any tasing commences.

      [–]ShockAndAwe415 267 points268 points  (20 children)

He would've let him know. It's just he was doing his best not to do it. But if the dude held onto him, he would've shocked him. And should've.

I was pissed at the guy trying to use the "your'e a minority" card on the cop. "Yeah, I'm a minority. You're an asshole. Are we done now?"

Edit for clarification: I didn't write my comment clearly enough. I meant that that if anti-mask guy kept holding onto taser cop, taser cop would've (and should've) tased him.

      [–]celery1234 116 points117 points  (4 children)

I was praying that he wasn’t going to comment on the officers race... and then he did.

      [–]down_with_stds_ 33 points34 points  (8 children)

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but I really didn’t understand that part...? Why did he bring up the officer’s race? I don’t get it

      [–]bighootay 84 points85 points  (1 child)

Because he's being 'oppressed' just like the minority group, so they're really bros! I guess. Or whatever else is in his brain.

      [–]Tomburgerstand 568 points569 points  (73 children)

Tased?! For a many Americans doing less than his resisting at 1:41 would be a clear and present threat against the officer's lives and an immediate death sentence. Equality For All!

      [–]yourclitsbff 403 points404 points  (16 children)

And then his privileged, non-tazed after resisting arrest, ass said “Cops of minority descent”like that matters —because his racism is definitely part of what makes him the ideal type of “sheeple” that falls for the whole “they’re taking muh rights away” propaganda sector. Was surprised he didn’t call everyone sheeple.

      [–]Zwergenfreund 1114 points1115 points  (79 children)

Can the fat bitch shut up allready?

      [–]Brook420 239 points240 points  (18 children)

Why didn't she get kicked out? Wasn't wearing her mask right at all.

      [–]PainfulPeanutBlender 242 points243 points  (2 children)

Both of them needed to shut up honestly

      [–]buttking 219 points220 points  (17 children)

schoolboard: "Officers, could you remove her too?"

      officers: *look at her*

      officers: *look at each other*

      officers: *grab radios*

officer1: "Dispatch? It's Larry. Listen we're gonna need some back up."

officer2: "Hey dispatch, Garry checking in. Uhhhhhh, just to tack onto that, you might as well send the wagon."

dispatch: "Jesus, what the hell is going on down there? Is somebody starting a revolt over the masks? Seriously?"

      officers: "...It's complicated."

      [–]BlowsyChrism 22 points23 points  (0 children)

He acknowledged that they have to drag him out for him to leave, yet he resisted and seemed shocked by this.

What a stupid asshole. It's a mask. Grow the fuck up.

      [–]dropa-stone 166 points167 points  (3 children)

I’m sure heart disease is a hoax to her as well.

      [–]Bladley 465 points466 points  (48 children)

This makes my blood boil. We have 200K dead in our country because of ignorant shit stains like this. Fuck that guy.

      [–]bibfortuna1970 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am so fucking sick of these wannabe constitutional scholars. God forbid they actually had to face real oppression. They’d be lining up for masks if their asses were on the line.

      [–]Ozzietrent 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That man is a fucking loser.

      [–]ACheesePlatter3 105 points106 points  (7 children)

I think the real crime was those shorts

      [–]creswitch 34 points35 points  (7 children)

Where I live he'd also be fined $200. This is the first American video I've seen all lockdown, of police actually enforcing public health laws. There have been more videos of cops shooting people, in that time.

Edited: Just realised the fine for not wearing a mask is only $200, not $1652, which is the fine for illegal gathering. And that's AUD. So about USD $145 for no mask and $1200 for gathering

      [–]DrFlavin 589 points590 points  (121 children)

Why is that guy not in cuffs. He resisted arrest. I’m not one to usually say this type of stuff. But what if that was a 20 year old black kid arguing with the police. I bet it would have went differently.

      [–]ohgeezyouagain 443 points444 points  (34 children)

He resisted arrest and assaulted an officer

      [–]LegionofDoh 312 points313 points  (6 children)

YUUUPPP!!!! He not only resisted, he put his hands on the cop in an aggressive way. If everything MAGA cultists have told me is correct, you should comply with police and obey their orders or you get what you fucking deserve. Willfully and intentionally assaulting an officer? Tase that motherfucker. And crank up the juice to 10!

All of this over wearing a silly piece of cotton over your ugly face. What a snowflake.
