wow amazing game from ozzy, i gotta praise this dude's mental. I would have completely collapsed after that first week

[–]Haymegle 247 points248 points  (10 children)

In the Fnatic content the team seem to be super supportive of him, that has to help when Razork and everyone are like "shit happens bro, we'll win the next one. You played fine"

[–]FuujinSama 134 points135 points  (8 children)

Advienne has been impressing me a lot with how supportive and friendly he is out of game. He seems really emotionally intelligent and always knows what to say. I feel like his presence is a huge part of this atmosphere.

[–]Archipegasus 82 points83 points  (3 children)

Genuine life experience diff, iirc he started playing competitively after 1 year of uni, so a substantial difference to those who start grinding when they are teens and drop out of school.

[–]Freakkopath 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Well said, couldn't agree more about the genuine life experience. Just gives you a different perspective on life in general, on yourself and those around you. Should be very valuable for a young guy like Oscar, heck, even for Razork and maybe Humanoid to have someone like Advienne around.

[–]Haymegle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It does seem to be having a big impact. Def not something I expected from him coming into it tbh.

[–]_PPBottle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it has a lot to do with his background ( think he started pro "late", went to college first, etc).

He seems a very well adjusted 25 year old. In gaming terms, he "touched grass" before going pro and it shows.

This is why it is really important having a support network for the players with more "traditional" backgrounds (high school dropouts, started grinding at the very start of puberty, etc) , it so sad when talent like Vetheo mental booms so hard into getting benched, seems like it could be avoided with the right team infrastructure

[–]skar0815 48 points49 points  (0 children)

They didn't say he played fine though, which is important because he would know they are lying. They told him he wasn't the single reason they lost, only one of the reasons. And that it is completely normal to be nervous and overwhelmed.

[–]MrJammin 890 points891 points  (9 children)

FNC had to start 0-4 to unlock the secret 2017 sauce.

[–]Omnilatent 330 points331 points  (3 children)

LEC script writers reminded FNC they are still FNC

[–]Fosco11235 60 points61 points  (2 children)

[–]Grainis01 52 points53 points  (0 children)

[–]AconexOfficial oh... 45 points46 points  (3 children)

[–]Luxus_Charka 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Fnatic announces they’re signing a new mid laner named… faps? Well whatever gets em to worlds.

[–]HaoiNan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My favorite faps moment was when he said ''it's fapping time'' and fapped to the enemy team.

[–]MeteWorldPeace 1224 points1225 points  (41 children)

Someone convinced Humanoid it was playoffs

[–]Damurph01 89 points90 points  (1 child)

For fnatic, they’re basically already in playoffs mode. If they lose, they’re out. They can’t really afford to lose a few more games and get knocked out of the Bo3’s again. Maybe Humanoid realized that🤣

[–]DRazzyo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The format doesn't allow you to be 'chill'. You botch one week and you're already on the backfoot.

So, all teams should be in 'playoff' form at this point.

[–]cadaada rip original flair 390 points391 points  (29 children)

Caedrel was talking about the azir nerfs, and damn now i'm afraid. Humanoid basically plays azir whenever he can since last year. Idk how it will be without it.

[–]MeteWorldPeace 174 points175 points  (7 children)

I mean his Leblanc has always been nasty

[–]Grainis01 69 points70 points  (13 children)

His viktor is great too and LB is good. So jsut give him htat and we are golden.

[–]Snow_42 80 points81 points  (5 children)

Freeze's bro is apparently friend with every czech players

[–]Haymegle 63 points64 points  (0 children)

tbf in the Fnatic content he seems like a chill guy. I'd be friends with him haha.

[–]FantasyTrash 52 points53 points  (3 children)

I know it's only been short term improvements, but watching Fnatic's content the past three months, it's very clear Nightshare is a better coach than Crusher.

[–]Haymegle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Short split keeps his attention maybe? Every game matters now haha.

Oscar doing the Adam and delivering epic olaf performances after everyone shit on him

[–]NamelessSearcher 585 points586 points  (12 children)

It feels good to see, no one likes to watch a rookie just get so bullied. Love to see the fight in him

[–]hickg001 274 points275 points  (8 children)

Exactly, whatever your thoughts on fnatic or their management; watching a rookie bounce back from the worst week 1 in recent memory to having the confidence to just absolutely send it is inspiring

[–]FuujinSama 51 points52 points  (1 child)

Watching Legends in Action I feel like Nightshare is turbo-smurfing as coach. He seems to be doing really great at getting the players to work well together and looking like an actual team. Even after week 1, the overall mood for the team seemed pretty decent and the way he kept insisting that they were actually good and would keep winning once they got some extra confidence from winning a game was pretty great.

The drafts on all three wins also felt pretty damn good which is a giant improvement from Winter.

[–]Linko_98 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Hiiva is the one in charge of the drafts, in the last Ep of Legends in Action nightshare was telling Hiiva the draft was great against koi and Hiiva was smiling

[–]Boundedcloud69 49 points50 points  (4 children)

Bringing in cArn has been a game changer for fnc

[–]characterulio 49 points50 points  (1 child)

Man if Fnatic get into playoff, it will turn into such a great experience for Oscarin. He went from being one of the worst debuts ever, to improving slowly and helping FNC back into playoffs. He honestly shouldn't have been put in this situation in the first place but something good could out of this.

[–]Housumestari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea at worst this could have completely fucked up his career or made it so he doesn't get another LEC chance for a long time but it's great to see him bouncing back and even smurfing this hard

[–]bensonbenisson 171 points172 points  (7 children)

Man's mental is unbreakable.

[–]HueHueLeona 80 points81 points  (0 children)

He is a toplaner, his mental was already broke a long time ago

[–]icatsouki 32 points33 points  (2 children)

hes like this even in LVP, he basically has games where he just chain ints & games where he just stomps without dying

[–]Dragner84 19 points20 points  (0 children)

he just needs to get his spring 2022 performance back, that was him just carrying but without the ints.

[–]FakeBukowski 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So you are saying we just moved Hyllissang to toplane.

[–]Haymegle 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Gotta respect him for that. Also shows how much better the Fnatic environment is rn.

[–]Haymegle 60 points61 points  (2 children)

What a fun game though, good to see him deliver.

Also in fairness I was happy most people weren't shitting on him super hard week 1 compared to how I was expecting it to be, saw more people expecting not a lot.

[–]ArguingWithNoobs 521 points522 points  (18 children)

I’m neutral on both teams, but if I see FNC knock out VIT in Bo3s it will be funny as hell. The meltdown from Thoorin/Dom/Monte

[–]No-Painting-3970 217 points218 points  (2 children)

In my head I want vitality to be good so we have a second decent international team, but in my heart I want fnatic to know them out, so I can see that meltdown

[–]EriWave 119 points120 points  (9 children)

I love Fnatic but honestly if Vit doesn't actually become good we would almost be better off sending only one LEC team to MSI

[–]BallumBallum 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I just feel like right now every team in EU minus XL and TH can win against everyone and loose to everyone. Feels great watching LEC, but I am getting worried for MSI as not a single team feels consistent.

[–]Handrljan42 46 points47 points  (1 child)

[–]icatsouki 167 points168 points  (2 children)

this is such a strange feeling

[–]NurseryNurse yearlyFnaticMeltdown 71 points72 points  (1 child)

Hard agree. The fact that fnatic does not play every game from a comp disadvantage feels strange, but surely helps a lot. Sucked that last year and spring they played most games with shooting them self in the foot as a start.

[–]Haymegle 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Clean af from them in that regard. Really weird but kind of cool to see?

[–]Padulsky21 Nosferatu Vlad 119 points120 points  (4 children)

[–]Padulsky21 Nosferatu Vlad 20 points21 points  (2 children)

[–]XtendedImpact explanation i.imgur.com/UZSfn3e.png 167 points168 points  (10 children)

Absolutely. They had that one good MSI where they took Damwon to 5 (or 4?) but other than that MAD at international tournaments have consistently embarrassed themselves.

[–]RyanC00per_ 110 points111 points  (2 children)

It was 5 games at MSI 2021 I can remember it clearly because they've been shitting the bed ever since

[–]obigespritzt Faker Gosu 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Well on the positive side of things they've collapsed before the international tournament this time so even if they attend they aren't technically collapsing there.

[–]Falsus mid adcs yo 84 points85 points  (2 children)

Well last Saturday when Rekkles felt ''better'' he still sounded like he couldn't breath.

So yeah they where probably quite bad.

[–]AconexOfficial oh... 13 points14 points  (0 children)

[–]Haymegle 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Man also sounded high af from medication when he streamed pre one of their games last week.

[–]skaersSabody Rekkles ftw 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There's this video on Rekkles' channel which is from a stream last Saturday I believe where he finds Hilly and Nisqy in SoloQ and is high af from the cold medication

The video is hilarious, but it's kinda sad when you know the context

[–]DRazzyo 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Rekkless mentioned that he was legit delirious from the fever, so I'd say pretty sick.

Hylissang: "Always."

[–]Telaral 38 points39 points  (0 children)

FNC coaching staff smurfing with these drafts

[–]truegobi 42 points43 points  (4 children)

This game reminded me of how sometimes teams used to play against Argentina or other teams Messi was on. The opponent would try and do everything and anything to stop Messi from scoring/making an impact on the game. This, however, enabled other players to score. MAD threw everything at Rekkles in every fight, and Oscarinin and Humanoid could just clean up.

[–]m0bilize 528 points529 points  (18 children)

Trying to balance loving FNC players and hating Dardo is so hard

[–][deleted] 194 points195 points  (6 children)

Nah we don't hate Dardo as a person, we just hate what he's done as GM!

[–]abzikro12 104 points105 points  (5 children)

Yeah, I feel dardo is starting to get the wrong side of hate, people have to understand they can still want him out for his work and appreciate him as a person at the same time.

[–][deleted] 81 points82 points  (1 child)

Yeah it's very much bullying at this point which is never right. He's been cut from LiA and has had his authority taken over by cArn so the witchhunting really should stop now.

[–]Falsus mid adcs yo 51 points52 points  (3 children)

So glad they won, overall great game, but for the love of God please peel your jinx that's 2/0 from lane phase

100% agree. Advienne felt like that autofilled smurf mid main who just ignores you, the adc, while getting great engages. Rekkles was left alone so many times. That one time near Baron/raptors was the only time his positioning was careless. Ironically, that was the only time he got some peel from Advienne.

Hyli was still the best player for Fnatic it's wild :D

[–]Haymegle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Choo Choo all aboard Fnatic to playoffs train.

[–]Pavlo100 59 points60 points  (1 child)

It's not fair for Advienne, he will never be able to carry Rekkles the way Hylissang does!

[–]Haymegle 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Hyli just handing his ADC Rekkles gold. What can you do?

[–]InsuranceOne2864 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Small comp and mid difference.

Keep talking about my squad, our personnel ages, the way he plays, he stays injured, we’re past our time in this league, etc etc etc. Do me one favor PLEASE!!!! And I mean PLEASE!!! Keep that same narrative ENERGY when it begins! That’s all I ask.

Sad Lions close to going out 9-10th

[–]Mantiokaswing fetish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]Shay_Min 7 points8 points  (1 child)

MAD seeing rekkles: coordinated execution

MAD seeing oscar the olaf chad: oh yeah it's sprinting time

[–]obigespritzt Faker Gosu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At this rate I can start microdosing hopium and it might still pull me through. Fnatic look genuinely good. Like, Top 6 level at least.
