No, he’s actually working from the inside to bring it all down. If he has to actually play along and be a rapist, he’s just pretending so he can crash the pedo ring.

I base this on the Domino Pizza logo having 3 dots. The third letter in the alphabet is C. C is short for crock of shit much like anyone actually thinking shit like this.

”No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffus’d and Virtue is preserv’d. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauch’d in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.”

--Samuel Adams

“A popular Government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.”

--James Madison

“I consider knowledge to be the soul of a republic, and as the weak and the wicked are generally in alliance, as much care should be taken to diminish the number of the former as of the latter. "

--John Jay

The Founding Fathers could see the problem ignorance and low education could pose to this country, centuries ago. I swear, it sometimes feels like I'm watching the decline of the Roman Empire in real time.

Now masks are responsible for missing children? by joiiop in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]gevander2 5952 points5953 points  (0 children)

Besides the fact that this statistic is irrelevant to the COVID pandemic, facts not stated in the meme:

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, roughly 800,000 children are reported missing each year in the United States -- that's roughly 2,000 per day. Of those, there are 115 child "stranger abduction" cases each year, which means the child was taken by an unknown person.

(From an ABC News article, bold text by me)

115 children abducted by a stranger in a year. That means the rest were abducted by family members (custody disputes are probably most of them) or by people the family knows.

And how many people have died this year from a stranger giving them COVID?

Not quite the same "punch" to the data when you analyze it, is it?

My daughter came out when she was 15 and is in her mid 20's now. She has many men hit on her and I know that it will never happen, yes these people can be really stupid in the way of the Gay.

A coworker of mine asked me once if she dated men if it would "change" her. I put it this way "What if I set you up with 100 dates with men would you become gay?" His answer "No" well buddy it works the other way too.

It's amazing to me that you still have to explain to adults that white privilege doesn't mean all white people are rich, and all black people are poor, but that because of the color of your skin your path trough life is made more difficult if you're black.

It's not that if you have a black sounding name you'll never get a job, but that you'll more often get rejected than if you have a white sounding name.

That if you want to get a bank loan to start a business, it's more difficult for a poc to get it. That doesn't mean no poc ever gets a bank loan, but they have to work harder or fail more often.

It means that when you, get stopped by the police because you don't "look like you live in this neighborhood" that you are confronted that you are different because of your skin color. That people who look like you aren't expected to be here..

White privilege doesn't mean no PoC can beat the odds, it means that the system is build for one specific "look" and PoC don't have it.

I think white people especially poor white or white people from a poor background in rural southern states get hung up on how they get screwed as well. Growing up poor and white I was absolutely marginalized in many ways. I cannot say it’s to the level of being black bc I don’t have that experience. I also think that the oppression of minority groups is a real thing that is happening on grand scale. I really believe that the division of wealth in this country is a huge driving factor. White people hear black lives matter and get angry bc they are getting screwed by the police too but no one speaks for them. It’s like people don’t understand the movement is not a racial dividing line but more akin to police reform for all.

How hard is it to understand that having a privilege doesn't mean that you're automatically better off in every facet of life? Like I had the privilege of growing up in a two parent household. That doesn't mean that I'm better off than every single person in the world who grew up in a single parent home; it just means I was in a situation that provided some amount of advantage in life

First the GOP went after the evangelical vote. Then they started destroying and demonizing education. So you had a group of fantasy prone people susceptible to believing bullshit. Fox news gave those morons a place to gather and take in every bullshit conspiracy they wanted to believe and then the internet and social media gave them a place to gather up and turn that shit up to 12.

Now, it's all been deliciously weaponized through various web sites. With dopamine feedback loops that data-mine your every wish.

We're talking about fantasy prone people with poor reality testing. And the Internet has sped all this up to a frenetic pace. It used to be a few guys who would write a new book every few years. There were scattered readers here and there across the world, with little contact. Then came Fox “news” to grow the misinformed. Today it's thousands of guys making new videos every few days, and legions of true believers. What was once fringe is has now found a welcoming community. Its intoxicating…..

We're seeing the logical progression of Internet-enabled regression on a very large scale. Yep, america is done, over. We've been overrun by the ill-educated, the ignorant, the misinformed, the selfish, and the just plain stupid.

The GOP won. They told these people their common sense feelings are as good as any elite educated expert and they demonized education at every level and grew a bumper crop of morons.

I think part of it is that conservatives need an enemy. Their ideology only makes sense if you believe that your entire way of life is under attack. For most of the 20th century, the Soviet Union was the unifying enemy for conservatives, but ever since the end of the Cold War, they've been floundering around trying to find something new to be scared of. Some of them settle for immigrants or terrorists, but some end up just making things up to convince themselves that they need to continue living in fear.

As an ICU nurse I totally see this. In healthcare it’s gotten so bad with accommodations and treating people like it’s a hotel that we can’t do our jobs. Family come in and hound us constantly and take so much of our time we can’t take care of patients properly. I’ve really discovered this since the pandemic (because they can’t come in and bother me 24/7) that it’s not my job that I hate so much but the family members who can’t leave us alone to work. Their needs come above everything else. It’s so draining. People have become so entitled.

Seems like a bit of an asshole move for democratic Lupus patients and what not. Some people actually need the medicine for the diseases that it is proven to work for, and should not have to pay more just because you like to listen to quacks.

If you will ensure the supply to those who actually need it you can have as much of the rest as you want. Knock yourself out.
