Love the idea, but it’d be a bitch to run from house to house in this thing.

[–]nomommydont 94 points95 points  (4 children)

Best part: knocking over all fellow trick or treaters who stand in your way.

Elton John has never been so cruel

[–]TinglingSpideySenses 51 points52 points  (2 children)

🎶I'M STILL STAAANDIN'! YEEEAH YEEEAH YEEEAH!🎶

[–]HappyScrappyHeeroPup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DON’T GO BREAKING MY COSTUME

[–]montana757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was crueler than that I used to scare the living daylights out of other kids and when I realised it's more fun to torment people with your costume than it to try and Express yourself or make yourself look cool with them

[–]nater255 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Good news! He won't be trick-or-treating this year :(

[–]ThePantser 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Depends on the area, for some stupid reason my city didn't ban it, but my kids won't be either way, bought the big bag of reeses for them.

[–]feign-to-fade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if this kid falls on his ass he is never to be able to stand up again.

[–]Iamaredditlady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best part of wearing that thing is the amazed looks and comments in between houses

[–]madein1986 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Did you hear? There's a pandemic now worldwide due to the surge in Europe. You'd be a terrible parent if you allowed your kid out to get candy.

[–]JohnBurgerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pandemic?! Fake news, it’s all part of the Christian war on Halloween to boost the bastardized form of candy begging “trunk’r’treating”

/s

[–]calloy 53 points54 points  (3 children)

He’s not the kid they think he is at home, oh, no no no.

[–]A40 16 points17 points  (1 child)

[–]L0rdPencilLegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taller than they ever did

[–]wwabc 103 points104 points  (29 children)

"did you make your own costume?"

"Um, well, my mom helped a little"

"do you know who it is?"

"um...John Elton?"

[–]derpyco 112 points113 points  (16 children)

Idk dude sometimes kids get obsessed with weird stuff.

My brother, for example, became terminally obsessed with James Bond when he was about 5-6. Like, he would dress up in a child's suit and bowtie to go to the grocery store. He loved Sean Connery.

This was in the 90s

[–]DomLite 22 points23 points  (4 children)

The summer after first grade my family took me to see Phantom of the Opera at The Orpheum because I had long ago discovered my grandparents cassette tape of the soundtrack along with other Andrew Lloyd Webber shows. I then decided that the next two Halloweens in a row I wanted to be The Phantom. Two. Years. In. A. Row.

I have no doubt that a young child who loves the music and/or music videos of Elton John might request this.

[–]Zorgsmom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My 3-year-old nephew is obsessed with Michael Jackson. He's watched all of his videos on YouTube dozens of times. He frequently breaks out into song & tries to moonwalk.

[–]Soupmaster44 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yep my little brother is into classic rock and was super into Styx in elementary school, and by middle school he was into Elton John as well. I can definitely see this kid being a big fan. Not to mention the Elton John movie came out not too long ago which I'm sure increases those odds a bit

[–]eye_no_nuttin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Best of Times ;)

[–]zaphod_beeble_bro 3 points4 points  (1 child)

"this is a boy who genuinely loves pageantry"

[–]derpyco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao exactly. Fuck he even had a little briefcase full of "gadgets" aka toys.

The amount of people who asked who died 🤣

[–]Annie2525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be a great r/askreddit question! I love reading these! Kids are so weird.

[–]Teacup_Cannibal 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I was absolutely obsessed with Elton as a kid, late 80s, early 90s. Still love him. I'd beg for vhs concert tapes for Christmas and cassette tapes for my boombox.

[–]derpyco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love hearing all these weird stories of childhood obsessions! Makes me think OP had kind of a repressive childhood, kinda strange to assume parents pick costumes for kids 9/10 years old

[–]terminal112 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I got super into Neil Young when I was like 8 after my dad played Live Rust on a roadtrip.

[–]derpyco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neil Young is the shit! I'm one of those hipster doofuses who collect vinyl and I got really into him when I found his first album at a garage sale. I was so mad that country used to be good.

[–]CoolHeadedLogician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was super into james brown as a 90s kid, around age 8. never dressed like him or anything but i was definitely obsessed

[–]RebekahR84 25 points26 points  (6 children)

My four year old is obsessed with Bob Ross because we like Bob Ross. At this age, the parents’ interests are often the kids’ interests.

[–]crestonfunk 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Fun fact: I own a painting of the Menendez Brothers painted in the style of Bob Ross that was made for The Dana Carvey Show.

[–]the_bipolar_bear 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Lol what? Why? That's hilarious. Doesn't look like the same one that was used though? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MItR3TYY75k

[–]crestonfunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right, I think they made two or three in case the Bob Ross actor made a mistake so they could do another take. It came from a prop stylist who was a friend of a friend. I like collecting weird stuff.

[–]RebekahR84 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That is indeed a fun fact!

[–]crestonfunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The opposite wall in my office has a 1940s print of Bambi!

[–]SctchWhsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, my 4 year old loves watching the joy of painting with me.

[–]SlowlySailing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hahahah I can totally picture this, but at the same time he might have recently watched Rocketman and liked it?

[–]dublem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I wanted to dress up as a zombie, but my mom forced me to wear this and let her and her friends take pictures of me for hours..."

[–]JustSatisfactory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno. My 6 year old loves Elton John.

He loves the movie Sing. It has a cover of I'm Still Standing by Taron Egerton, before he played Elton in Rocketman. At some point I showed him the music video of the original and now we have a huge collection of gaudy kids sunglasses.

My 10 year old daughter also recently got obsessed with the original Bewitched show after finding it on some free TV app. She basically binge watched it. Kids be weird.

[–]mhans3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I was straight up obsessed with Elton John after watching him on the muppets in 4th grade.

[–]thin_white_dutchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became obsessed with Janis Joplin at 5. I have no idea why Janis, in particular, appealed to me, but she did. I was in kindergarten, singing Bobby McGee on the playground. I wanted to be her so bad for Halloween but my mother, who had been to a Janis show in her youth, was afraid that it would reflect badly on her parenting, so I didn’t get to do that costume until college. Instead, I demanded a karate kid costume then, and she made me one out of spare pink satin bedsheets, which she put my last name on the back of, like my t ball uniform, bc she didn’t understand karate. It was acceptable. I kicked every door while trick or treating, so she probably regretted not letting me be Janis. Just saying, kids latch onto weird things. I still love Janis.

[–]BreakfastGrenade 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am so stealing this.

Not for my kid, for me. If I shave the beard off I can totally pull this off.

[–]elwanabi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hahahaah awesome Halloween costume

[–]Ruftop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is amazing!

[–]Darinaras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Social distancing trick or treating = solved.

I think it's gonna be a long, long time before I see another costume this good.

[–]creative_user_name69 10 points11 points  (4 children)

I feel sorry for the kid who has to be the piano /s

edit: added sarcasm because apparently, that isn't obvious.

[–]Momma_Bella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]tuskvarner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]Maettis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And a nice space for the candys.

[–]willi3blaz3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Dnlx5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No way that kid knows what hes doing

[–]Sasquatchlicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, until he needs to go through a doorway...

[–]16blacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until you have to use a doorway

[–]Mysticrosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg ♡ too cute

[–]The2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know it's a good costume when it makes it cumbersome to negotiate thresholds.

[–]TalltomnTx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sir Elton world approve

[–]3two3one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when Rock was young

[–]Shinylittlelamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]3900-feet-above-sea- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what do you expect from a chick who's just sixteen?

[–]TinyRandomLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the piano also serve as the candy pail?

[–]BisquickNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FABULOUS!

But really off the charts cool!

[–]MileZeroC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re still standing

[–]ContrarianHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the coolest this kid will ever be in his life. in 30 years he'll still be telling stories about this costume.

[–]f_ckingandpunching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love parents who build their kids cool shit

[–]iHeartBuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice one! That's so creative! TBH I actually thought he was really on top of the piano.

[–]IolaBoylen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredible!

[–]Withgreatpleasure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great I really like it

[–]MiltonHide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it :)

[–]Wilwein1215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake. I can see his real legs.

[–]paulonboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can use the piano as a box to store the candy.

[–]beatrixx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was listening to Rocket Man as I saw this photo! Coincidence?

[–]liveslowdiesoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's Daniel, my brother.

[–]redder_dominator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the piano being held up?

[–]Fleixxxiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha love it. So creative !

[–]WalterBlackness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait... who's legs are those!?!

[–]iamsam8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is this kid? I want to be his friend!!

[–]demillir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little bit funny

[–]MrPhil1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great costume, and I’m not trying to be a downer here, but you’ve just posted the address where (supposedly) this kid lives. Friendly reminder to be aware of the information that one posts on social media.

[–]HatesBigWords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redditor for one month.....LMAO

[–]brunettedude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I LOVE this for more reasons than one. But I can’t imagine this kiddo seriously asking if he could dress up like Elton John laying on a piano for Halloween. This feels like a parent’s idea. Cute, but I also feel like kids need to have their own say in what they wear too

[–]Sm0k3turt13 -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

Because the girl on top of the piano looks like one being, the legs on the piano are perfect

[–]TechInventor 18 points19 points  (3 children)

It is a man on the piano, this is an Elton John costume.

[–]Sm0k3turt13 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Listen, I realized that after I wrote this and I went to go back and correct it but I couldn’t find it so I was like,

“Someone will correct me and I can get back that way”

[–]TechInventor 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Bahaha this comment made my day. Hope you had a good weekend!

[–]Sm0k3turt13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You too mate. Overall fuckin sweet costume tho

[–]bugchaser90211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glorifying a degenerate lifestyle that goes against the teachings of the bible.

promoting that lifestyle to kids.

[–]icrysyalier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have to say, this is lit

[–]Shirley_yokidding -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This kid won Halloween.

[–]xAIRGUITARISTx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That has to be super heavy for a kid that age.

[–]Zakke_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Is that Ellen?

[–]tastynate -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mmmmm COVID candy.

[–]nootsareop -3 points-2 points  (0 children)
