Over $80? She probably has so much money from the government that she doesn’t even need.

I love how it turned from 80 dollars to a felony real quick

If she were black this cop would be fired as would his chief and there would be rioting in the streets. Same rules apply for everyone: Stop resisting arrest. Whether you're right or wrong the cops will always win in these situations. Live to see another day

    [–]Tacoface1998 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What the fuck are you on about? Fragile ass bitch

    [–]BudrickBundy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Fragile" in the context you used it tells me that you're "woke" or in other words a religious fanatic who is obsessed with race, since racism (as it is defined by the Cult) is the worst "sin" imaginable according to the doctrine of the Cult.

The other person is right. It's an idiotic law and reddit would have chosen to be a bunch of White Knights if the idiot in the car was black. That's right, both the law and the woman in the car are stupid. The cops do not write the law, you pay the fine and then call your representatives, write letters to the editor, call into local radio shows, etc.

I'm in one of the most pro-lockdown states and I never wear a mask while driving. I've heard politicians on the radio, from both parties, say it's not necessary to wear masks while driving. One ex-Congressman even made a joke about it and suggested that doing so was stupid. What kind of moron thinks forcing people to wear masks while driving in their own vehicles helps anyone?

    [–]TitoMLeibowitz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If she were black she’d be dead.

    Grow up

    [–]AbjectStress9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I'm so sure the the cops would have been just as patient and polite "if she were black" as you put it.

    [–]Kross_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A black person wouldnt even get a chance to do half of what this dumbass did most of the time anyway. The point you are trying to make is invalid.

I have no volume. Was this just a traffic violation that could have been mailed to her house?

      [–]girlMikeD 8 points9 points  (2 children)

She refused to sign which is required by law to protect the accused and the officer from one or the other saying something did or didn’t happen. It’s an acknowledgement of your wrong doing.

If you believe you were falsely accused, you take it to the court date instead of just paying the fine. She admitted she hadn’t been compliant with the law for 6 mths but didn’t think she should be fined.

Then she fled the scene. This entire incident was purely her fault. But she decided to act like a spoiled entitled child and the officer want having it bc it’s his job to uphold the law.

      [–]ckayfish6 3 points4 points  (5 children)

      Yessir mister. I’m sorry.

      [–]secretlanky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, the issue is that if she was black there’s a higher chance she could’ve gotten shot or treated worse. That cop was obviously incredibly kind and patient yet that woman didn’t care. The cop remained patient and calm despite that. Would the same have happened for a PoC? That’s the issue today.

      [–]NarUluthrek 10 points11 points  (1 child)

This is so great. I can’t comprehend the comments defending this insane lady who clearly thinks she is above the law. Probably has a big rich family and thinks she doesn’t have to play by the rules. Absolutely hilarious.

      [–]girlMikeD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea some simpleton has been going at me about how I’m gaslit, which doesn’t even make sense in this argument but regardless they have been saying she was assaulted over an $80 fine.....wrong, she was removed from the vehicle, tased and handcuffed bc she refused to sign, fled the scene and then attempted to assault the officer....all bc she said “she’s country girl” and didn’t want the$80 ticket.

If we could all get out of tickets cuz we don’t want them, would defeat the purpose of traffic laws.

The mindset of some people is so ridiculous and laughable.

She's super entitled and a bitch and although she was treated waaaay better by this cop than most would have been, this really shows how much of their job it is to keep the common people under control.

          [–]Squiishka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, but I guess what happens if she doesn't pay the local fines court, and ignores her ticket. Eventually the state would send an officer to do pretty much what's shown in this video

          [–]weedexperts🌱 p84.ag.0 0 points1 point  (12 children)

An $80 fine turns into guns drawn and a tasering. It's a crazy world.

I think I would prefer to live in a world where cops with guns did not enforce $80 fines with physical violence.

Mail them the fine, and start ratcheting up the costs. Eventually it will be handled by a local fines court. Nobody has to resort to violence. She's an ignorant ass bitch but I would have just fined her until she accepted fault and paid up.

Americans are so gaslit by police that they accept them physically enforcing $80 fines with violence.

          [–]girlMikeD 5 points6 points  (9 children)

He wouldn’t of resorted to physically restraining her with force if she had stepped out of her car as she was asked and proceeded to act like an adult and not a spoiled toddler.

Law is the law and she was given many chance to comply.

Really think that officer wanted to taser and forcefully arrest her? Come on. There are definitely bad and brutally aggressive cops, but just bc a cop had to resort to force doesn’t mean they want to or had another choice.

She fled the scene and attempted to assault him. No one should be above the law. All she had to do was sign the ticket and be on her way.

          [–]weedexperts🌱 p84.ag.0 -2 points-1 points  (8 children)

You apparently don't get it do you. It's an $80 fine. Apparently not signing = requires to be forcefully removed from the car. Damn you're so gaslit.

          [–]girlMikeD 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Hahaha...no you don’t get it. She was asked multiple times to exit the vehicle. She decided to run from the police and then try to assault them by kicking him when he insisted and attempted to remove her from the car. She had choices and decided not to follow the law. Laws are not optional that you can comply with when you feel like it. What was the officer supposed to do? Say oh well she didn’t want to follow the law so since she made a scene and refused to get out...well we ll just let her get away with it. Not how laws or society works.

Honestly your gaslit if you think that anytime an officer places a hand on someone it’s police brutality or overly forceful.

He warned her to put her hands behind her back and instead of forcing her hands which could of really hurt her, he taxed her after multiple warnings. And he barely tased her at that.

He clearly shows concern for her wellbeing afterwards by asking her and calling for an ambulance.

Shit needs to change in many police forces and with many officers, but it’s such a pathetic response to constantly blame the officers when adults have the choice to follow their demands in a peaceful and mature way. No one is above the law.

          [–]johnnyweareworried6 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

You guys keep making excuses for police brutality, the mental gymnastics are amazing

          [–]girlMikeD 0 points1 point  (1 child)

          Force doesn’t equal brutality.

Cops have a saying, “Ask, tell, force”.

First they ask the offender(law breaker) to do X. If the offender doesn’t comply. They tell the offender to do X. If they still do not complying They force the offender to do X.

What is this thought process that you have that all people will just do the right thing. Did you not see the same video where he calmly gave her a ticket . She refused to follow the law, which is to sign it. He then asked her to step out of the vehicle. She was belligerent and then fled the scene. He chases/follows after her with sirens on. Then still asks her to get out of the vehicle and she attempts to assault him by kicking him and still refuses to get out. So he makes her/forces her.

She was asked to put her hands behind her back. She fights and refuses.

He warns her she will be tased. She continues to not comply. So he tases her.

Warns her again, she doesn’t comply. So he tasers her again. And wow, now she complies.

How should the officer of handled this situation without touching her or forcing her, while still doing his job of upholding and enforcing the law??

So the new rules should be, that law enforcement officers just ask us all to obey laws and if we decide we don’t want to......what, they just shake their heads and say “oh well I asked and they won’t do it. I give up.”

I mean really come on people.

          [–]johnnyweareworried6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was excessive force, which does equal brutality. Not every driver in a traffic stop is going to willingly comply with everything like a good little choirboy. That’s where an officer’s skills come in, regarding assertive communication, defusing the situation, etc. The fact you’re accusing the driver of ‘belligerence’ as if that’s a serious crime is kind of hilarious. You’re confusing rudeness with an actual offence.

Yes she should have accepted the ticket, and she obviously went too far by trying to drive off. But resorting to using a taser on an overweight middle aged woman is pathetic, rabbit kick or not - the policing skills are so poor It’s actually embarrassing. Total failure on the officers part or, if he was simply following protocol I blame the police department for training the officers so badly

          [–]weedexperts🌱 p84.ag.0 -4 points-3 points  (3 children)

This was a good cop he wasn't aggressive at all at first he keeps his calm and people here in the comments talking shit about the cop, come on the woman ran and tried to kick the cop and even after that the cop still was trying to be sort of nice to the lady and tase her for 5 min straight like I see other cops do (if that happened btw the cop was off very wrong)

          [–]Tacoface1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was an excessive use of force and wasn't justified. She put up barely any resistance and the cop could have easily restrained her without the use of a taser. Just because it isn't an extreme display of excessive force doesn't mean it's okay.

She has to sign saying and agrees to pay it or show up in court to fight it, basically it's the alternative to getting arrested. The American court system wants you to answer for your crimes, and to ensure you do so they have a few levels for how things are handled.

You can be held without bail. Usually reserved for high flight risks or incredibly severe crimes, basically says, this is so serious, or we're so certain you'll run, we're going to hold onto you until your court date.

If you are released on bail, you pay a sum as a deposit, the amount varies, and sign paperwork saying you'll come back on your court date or forfeit your bail, plus, you'll be arrested again when the police find you and you'll be in even bigger trouble.

And for minor stuff like traffic violations, they don't even make you pay to go free, you just need to sign the ticket agreeing to appear in court. Since it sounds like she's denying she did anything wrong, it can be assumed she intends to fight the ticket. If she won't agree to show up for her day in court, then she gets arrested, just like if you tell a judge you won't show up for court, you're not likely to get bail.

It's all the same system, just different tiers for different levels of danger. If you murder 20 people and have passports under different names from different countries, you probably can't convince the courts to let you roam free until your trial. If you have had a tail light out for six months you probably aren't as much of a danger, so just sign the paper so you can go about your day.

            [–]Largiri⛎ ci.1.2s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont understand the procedure too, here in germany if you get a ticket it goes like this.

Writes ticket then you get asked if you agree to the fine, if yes you just get it, without signature.

If you dont agree you get the "police report stop" via postal service and get 2 weeks to either pay it which automatically makes you agree to it. If not you can either write the case from your view or get an attorney to handle this stuff.

She wasn't punished, so not sure what your talking about. She disobeyed several lawful orders, evaded arrest, and assaulted a police officer, so the officer used non lethal force to detain and arrest her. Her punishment will come when a judge/jury sees this video.

            [–]Tacoface1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't need to draw a gun nor use the taser. The officer could have easily restrained her by himself but he gave up after one of the weakest leg kicks ever. Just because he didn't kill her or beat her within an inch of her life doesn't mean it wasn't excessive.

So, she went from an $80 fine for something she SHOULD have fixed 6 months ago to resisting arrest, fleeing from police, assault on a police officer... If you feel the ticket is wrong (seems like 6 months is excessive for not repairing something to me, unless you have a 12-month grace period in your state after failing inspection or something), you sign it and show up in court. You don't make it worse. Period. The minute she refused to sign, she started a snowball.

This is kinda what people are telling EVERYONE who has aggressive encounters with the police. The time to argue and fight isn't when there is a power imbalance. Do it through the court system and if you're right, you end up rich instead of dead.

What can you expect when the PD is called Cashion needs to be changed to Cashin PD.

If you won’t sign it then fine. You’re just gonna spend a few hours in county jail before they let you go. However running in a vehicle, assaulting a cop, and active resisting arrest are all felonies. She’s gonna spend most of her retirement in prison.

Something sooooo satisfying about this video. I watch it every time it’s posted 😂

I think that was rightfully severed justice you are not supposed to run or assault a cop getting out of the vehicle and he had every right to tase her because no matter who you are he asked you to step out he did not result to violence until she did for people that don’t see that I feel sorry for u because I learn to love and forget obey the rules and if you did nothing wrong you can take that to court that’s not his fault and he just asked her to pay the fine what I see is a cop doing his job perfectly because being kind can’t always work

I am criticizing the system. Here, it goes on your profile that you have to pay no matter what. The involvement of police is very less. So that is why this is bullshit, the system is bullshit.

Many people do not realise but the taser was the safest option for her safety. He wasnt gonna shoot as they're is no threat, pepper spray would not be a good option due to how close she was to the officer, hitting her with the baton would cause more physical harm and so would flooring her. The taser causes pain but she had no injuries after it.

I was feared for my life watching that old bat.

She's probably gotten away with stuff her whole life by acting this way and no one wanting to deal with it.

Yep, definitely get the feeling she’s the type of person who often walks out of places with free products & services bc she threw a fit. Unfortunately the law isn’t something you can just brush aside with a tantrum, & the cop isn’t some poor customer service manager who doesn’t get paid enough to deal with that shit.

And as a (white) country girl, she's gotten away with this stuff her whole life. How dare someone ever hold her accountable for her actions!

If a black person had been as "disrespectful"/running from the cops, like she did, she would have been treated much more harshly.
