I’ve met a couple of girls over the last couple of years that were big Swifties and started to open my eyes a little to her phenomenon. More than anything else, how she treats her fans and engages with them.

I’ve got a 12-year-old girl, and thanks to Capital One, I got in on the presale tickets for the very beginning of Eras and took my daughter to her first concert. I liked Taylor‘s music well enough, but that’s about it.

The show was by far the most amazing show I’ve ever seen in my life. No question.… Nothing else came close. The Swifties there were incredibly wholesome and sweet and fun with great energy, and I loved everything about being there. Throughout the rest of the Eras Tour, I saw all the TikToks, looked forward to the proposal videos every night, and congratulated my work clients that were at KC night one on being God‘s favorites. I’ve been mildly annoyed that I didn’t know enough about how to properly attend a Taylor Swift show at the beginning to have the outfits, the friendship, bracelets, all that for both my daughter and I. In short, I’ve been thoroughly converted as a Swiftie, and I think she’s one of the most amazing human beings that exists.

I’ve also been an avid football fan for most of my life. I’ve been playing fantasy football since before the Internet existed, and I actually drafted Travis Kelce in all of my leagues this year before Taylor Alison made him famous.

Whether it’s in NFL subreddits, social media, whatever, I have had the most fun in trolling the NFL gatekeepers that are so incredibly angry at the attention that Taylor has brought to the NFL. You’ve seen those TikTok‘s where wives are telling their football husbands how happy they are that Travis Kelce will be popular now? That’s the energy I’m bringing. One of my friends said that the NFL brings in $25 billion a year, and Taylor Swift only brought in 5 billion this year. I pointed out to him that it took 32 teams, an entire industry, to only get five times revenue of one young woman. Seems pretty weak to me.

In any case, I’m having a blast, I love you folks, and I am happy to be one of you.
