Idc if ppl don’t like it. It makes me feel like I’m with hundreds of my closest friends.

I’ll never forget the first show I went to. It was so unexpected and I didn’t understand what was going on. I had never experienced a sense of community like that at a show before, and I realized how special this band is.

Same. Long, long ago. Changed my whole trajectory. I went from being a casual to a die hard in 4 minutes.

I was at a show in 2019, and I'd heard they weren't really closing with this anymore. They played Light Years, and I figured that was the final song, so started heading toward the exits near the end of it (I know I'm in the minority, but Light Years is not among my favorites of theirs).

I was near the exit when they started playing Vanderlyle. I was standing there with maybe 4 other people (strangers), and we were all singing, our own little chorus separate from the crowd, and it felt sort of magical. It's one of my more memorable concert moments (wish I'd recorded it, but maybe that would have taken away from it).

I feel like it’s such a gift when they close with it at a show I attend and so disappointed when they don’t!

Was there. It was my first show of theirs. Fucking rocked my socks off.

this was the highlight of the show, honestly. it was my first time seeing them live and hearing the crowd sing along was surreal.

My first show they closed with it and it was magical

That was absolute magic. That show was one of the best I've ever attended.

Nothing like a communal experience of 10000 people singing “I’ll explain it all to the geeks” then screaming because in the main, that’s what we all are.

There is something truly magical about this strange song. I think it’s the melody. And the lyric. And the sentiment. A combination of bittersweet nostalgia and hope mixed with acceptance. It’s so powerful.

That's a great way to describe it! It's also in a range that most people can sing, so I think that helps.

So glad they're closing out with it again!

Seen them live maybe 7 or 8 times and half of those times they ended it with this. And those have been some of my favourite moments. Love singing along with everyone
