I never thought conservatives would be so intolerant to Muslims. by PayDBoardMan in LeopardsAteMyFace

You can excuse anti-Semitism?

If a religious fundamentalist forbids his wife to leave the house while showing any skin I'm not sure a law would change that. It's probably more likely he'll just not let her leave at all. Removing their ability to follow their religious traditions doesn't mean they'll automatically have more freedom if their religious text demands otherwise.

Don't get me wrong, women being oppressed by their husbands is an issue, but like the british banning the scottish kilt, this law was born more out of spite than compassion.

Banning covering your own face in the midst of a pandemic in winter is just the ironic cherry on top.

Something tells me that if somehow a royal with light brown skin was likely to gain the crown, the UK would suddenly find itself a lot more willing to discuss abolishing the monarchy.

She married into the family because she loves her husband, not because she fully supports the crown.

Yeah it kinda is lamf. Your only argument is that she didn't VOTE for anything but that's a thin argument and an irrelevant one given other posts that have been given a pass.

...when was my argument that she didn't VOTE for anything when I specifically mention merely supporting an idea in my second rebuttle?

When did she support the racism as a good thing for it to eventually turn around and negatively affect her?

When did she say this wouldn't happen that makes you believe she was 0% surprised by this?

What did she support the Royal family for that lead to the eaten of others faces which then got twisted back onto her?

Her face wasn't eaten by leopards she didn't see coming and who she empowered.

It was just eaten.

Even if I pretend to concede though I dont care for this on this sub.

This is like thinking spousal abuse is fit for this sub if the partner being abused goes out and tells everyone their partner is actually a great person.

Great.

Let's mock the abuse victim for getting punched in the face and telling us that that would never happen.

Edit: shortened.

As violence surges, some question Portland axing police unit by jjjjjuu in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]vandal_taking_handle 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s funny that the article you cite that correlates reduced crime to more policing:

  1. Uses data from the police. Totally not biased information there.

B. Says that having ‘beat cops’ cops who are actually involved in the community, increases interactions but doesn’t lead to more arrests. Almost like, if the cops know the people in their community they don’t treat everyone like criminals.

  1. How many laws are there? How can the vice article state that crime goes down when no one can articulate how many federal laws there are, much less state and federal laws?

Edit: LOL this is the most number of awards I've ever seen on any of my comment, and I guess this is where my life is now. Thank you!

I hope all prisoners get a cell without cockroaches, because we should respect human dignity.

With that being said, this guy does not deserve special treatment.

Politics at its most basic level is about a competition between people who want to change things, and people who want to keep things the same. Sometimes change is needed. Sometimes change is bad. Sometimes keeping things the same is needed. Sometimes keeping things the same is bad. Right now you will find a lot of really thoughtful conservatives who basically come down on the side of "your plan isn't going to work the way you think it will".

Republican's problem right now though is that it is a season for change. Technology, the world, the state of society, have all come to a point where changes are needed and the old systems are obviously no longer working. It is hard to change your basic outlook though so they grab on to conspiracy theory and demagogues, and yes, psychopaths.

Alot of words =/= triggered, sorry kid.

If you're injuring your brain while trying to provide proof for your claims, then you're doing it wrong. But that does explain your inability to have a coherent thought. You should indeed preserve the last few brain cells you may have, lest you forget how to breath.

Woman denies her son proper treatment for schizophrenia and then is killed by her son by cowvin in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]ahkolumi 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a mental health therapist to use to specialize in treating people with schizophrenia, I would just like to chime in and say that statistically people with schizophrenia are victims of violence at an estimated rate of 14 times higher than which they are perpetratorslink. Not accusing anyone who's commented of this specifically, just don't want the stereotype reinforced. Honestly, in all my years people with schizophrenia have been the absolute sweethearts of my case load.

[–]Diredoe 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I would just like to take a moment to remind people that people with schizophrenia are far more likely to be the victims of violence than perpetrators. Please don't let headlines like this fool you into thinking that people with schizophrenia are dangerous.

Rejoice in the proud independent spirit of conservatives who cannot think or speak for themselves, just become sniveling ass licking lap dogs to their master of the moment.

Their master despises them for the groveling he demands and eventually drop kicks them out the door when they’re no longer entertaining.

Then they whine in grief, maybe for the mistake, but likely because they lost the master’s attention.

Then they have the gall to use phrases like “ echo chamber” or “lefty”. As if anything could compare to the singular rigid cultism they practice.

They volunteer to be lab rats, then pretend everyone else is too, in a rival lab. No, it’s only them.

As a POC in America, I am careful to be on the right side of law at all times. Going at the speed limit, making sure my kid does not accidentally pocket something at the store, being nice and respectful to LEO, etc. etc.

If this (let's have insurrection over the weekend and then I'll go back to my family/work/vacation next week) is not the ultimate definition of privilege, I don't know what is.
