Find my post above with the quote about the area of Proto-Indo_European homeland. It will explain everything to you.

The Scythians originated from the Yamnaya (Pit Grave) culture which is obvious even from the burial mounds of the Scythians.

As an Iranian, you definitely know the etymology of the name "iran" that came from an aryan tribe of the Median Empire. Where did those people come from? Ultimately, you will recognize the Yamnaya people in them too.

So, as far as I can see, some of the "Iranians" were "Ukrainians" (speaking in modern terms). Not vice versa.

That is an outdated notion of the Scythians. The book above presents an information that changes that perspective. For example, it tells the little known facts about Anacharsis.

I know what the steppe is, It was "russian" that struck me as weird. "Russian" can only be marshes around Moscow.

"I believe with many others that the Proto-Indo-European homeland was located in the steppes north of the Black and Caspian Seas in what is today southern Ukraine and Russia. The case for a steppe homeland is stronger today than in the past partly because of dramatic new archaeological discoveries in the steppes. To understand the significance of an Indo-European homeland in the steppes requires a leap into the complicated and fascinating world of steppe archaeology." - D. Anthony in his The Horse, Wheel and Language.

Do not be so categorical.

I am telling you that there is evidence that Moscow SPECIFICALLY ran the senseless experiment on a Ukrainian NPP that is very close to Europe. (Why did not they run it on a similar one in Siberia?)

They did so on the reactor that had problems in it and that had been stopped several times before that on emergency reasons.

Russian oil was trading at some $12, the Soviet was short of money even for war in Afganistan. Europe was in process to build hundreds of new nuclear reactors that would mean the death of the USSR economy.

The only way for them to survive was to blackmail the nuclear energy to scare the West enough to return to its dependence on Russia's oil and gas.

They probably projected some sort of radiation leak at Chernobyl, but things went out of their crooked hands as is the usual thing with Russians.

You are perfectly correct.

(Want to add that most likely the Scythians originated from the Yamnaya culture)

It was. Google the reports Ukrainian KGB has been sending to Moscow in this regard. There was some quality issues

Watch "Russian Woodpecker" documentary. The central character makes some wild claims, but what the authorities tell on camera is priceless,

I truly am shocked that Chernobyl minisiries missed such explosive material

For that you may have to listent what the Head of the Chernobyl Committee says in "Russian Woodpecker" documentary. It should be freely accessible at Youtube and the approximate timing where the man describes the events starts at 43 min, if I am not mistaken

"Cradle of Civilizations" has many stories about Scythian barrows and the land of present-day Ukraine.

There is even scarier part to Chernobyl. The fact is that Moscow knew for sure that Reactor #4 was a faulty one but still insisted that the senseless experiment be conducted on that particular one.

The miniseries also missed the fact of Moscow calling that night ordering to keep the experiment going. It was not just a whim of one idiot. Most likely it was intentional sabbotage to halt Europe's building new nuclear plants. (so that Moscow could continue selling its stinky oil and gas).

The book mentioned above has the story of Tomyris and many similar ones. Including the story of Darius the Great who was in that part as well together with the most powerful army of the time (it numbered close to 1 million troops all together).

That was the Sacred Land of the Scythians. Those who love ancient history may want to know that the area of that dam is the place of the most famous Scythian Royal Barrows, For example, Chertomlyk Royal Kurgan described in "Royal Scythia, Greece, Kyiv Rus" book is only severla kilometers away from the dam.
