This person thinks they may still have — get this — THE ORIGINAL. The bad news is they’re traveling until early June, so they won’t be able to check until then. In the meantime, check your Reddit chat for a DM!

Witch trials of Jk Rowling by EvelleLizard in podcasts

"I just think that Rowling is getting her own emotions of past trauma and IMO feelings about her own identity get in the way. I think she has a fragile self identity..."

I think this basically the root of 99.9% of the problems humanity faces.

I was WONDERING how long it would take one of you to post this in here! Don’t worry, Ben and I have been talking about it this week. We’d love nothing more than some PASTA to put on our PLATES 😈 -Amory

Multi Episode investigative Podcasts about one topic? by shlimshlamshlomp in podcasts

Seconding Bear Brook, Dead Eyes, and a lot of others up here. Also both seasons of The Turning (each a different story) are good. I also liked Rabbit Hole from the NYT.

mystery podcast that has no murder? by lilac_congac in podcasts

Last Seen season 1 is about the Isabella Stewart Garnder Museum art heist in Boston in 1990! Most valuable heist and it’s never been solved. And then seasons 2 & 3 are individual stories about different things/people/places that have gone missing.

What do you guys even do while listening to podcasts? by MellowYellow1225 in podcasts

[–]endless_thread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even more repetitive tasks can be good if you get distracted by things like folding laundry. So like, raking or mulching or something outdoors. But agree with others who said walking and even lying in bed listening can be nice!

I helped work on this show (BBJ from WBUR's Endless Thread here). We're planning 7 episodes.

If ET were to create a Venmo "tip jar" where you could more casually send $5-10 to support the show when we make an episode you especially love, would you chip in? by endless_thread in EndlessThread

[–]endless_thread[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly! I support a number of podcasts/stations with monthly gifts, but I also know that's not appealing or feasible for a lot of people. Something like Venmo feels more casual, immediate, and like less of a commitment while still offering support and positive reinforcement.

Update: Venmo doesn't work internationally. Woof. So glad you brought this up so that we can brainstorm an international option as well.

We've wanted to experiment with Patreon for a WHILE. Still in talks with WBUR's membership team about that, but I also want folks to have a quick, easy way to show us a little support when they hear something they really love (hence, the Venmo idea). I also see this as a way for us to get more immediate feedback on what kinds of episodes listeners especially love.
