Expecting our first child in September. My mother crocheted an octopus for her, suckers and all. by cooked_khaleesi in pics

This is the pattern she used! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/claude-the-octopus

The only thing she changed was making the eyes crocheted as well so it didn't have any plastic pieces.

Thank you for the advice, and congrats on your little one! Sounds like you're in the throes of it now.

Definitely not for the crib! We'll have a close eye on her when she's little (duh) but I hope it will end up being one of her favorite toys when she's old enough to play with it on her own.

I'm so glad you decided to just go for it and start your Etsy shop! And thanks for the congratulations. We couldn't be more excited.

I'm already picturing our daughter walking around the house dragging this little guy behind her.

That's the one! She improvised the eyeballs so it wouldn't have any hard plastic pieces. I think the eyelids give it just that much more personality.

How freaking exciting!! Such a weird time to experience all of this, but it's our shining light for 2020. Big congrats to you!

I don't think I got a great angle honestly. I think it's adorable! But the eyes on the side of the head, while accurate, do make it a little creepy🤣

My dad and I keep telling her to sell her work but she thinks it would ruin the fun of it. I love the colors, too!

What are some VERY creepy facts? by Vacancier1807 in AskReddit

Yeah, can confirm. It only took a few months of severe anorexia to notice my(F) face had a new, thin coat of light-colored hair. Didn't do a damn thing to keep me from being cold everywhere I went, btw.

The saddest morning of my life by 19rthompson in BikiniBottomTwitter

In 6th grade my best friend lived a couple blocks away so we frequently walked/rode bikes to each other's houses, had sleepovers, etc. I was always a good kid because my dad was a marine and he could bring the wrath, but for some reason I got to feeling overconfident once when it came to a sleepover at said friend's house.

I told Mom that Dad said it was okay. I told Dad that Mom said it was okay. I hadn't asked either of my parents. But I rode my bike to my friend's house, and we had a grand ole time jumping on her trampoline and eating popcorn and doing normal sleepover things. Her mom never got a call from my parents, so I figured everything was good and my plan had paid off.

Boy, was I wrong. My parents had (duh) talked to each other the night before and figured out that I hadn't really asked either of them before going on my way. They decided to let me do my thing before coming home to both of them waiting by the front door, and an hours-long "talking to."

Never tried to pull that one again.

Does anyone else masochistically like feeling hungry? It's like the weird messed up way of punishing yourself by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

When my ED started I loved feeling the first tummy grumble of the day. It felt like a reward for my hard work of restricting.

I would have nightmares almost every single night that I had binged on everything in sight - then I'd wake up and realize it was just a dream and I had really eaten next to nothing as planned. Huge flood of relief.

What a miserable time that was. Wishing you well.

Clarification: Do we pay back the US stimulus check and/or extra unemployment benefits? by cooked_khaleesi in legaladvice

Thank you so much for the explanation! New and strange times for everyone - I haven't been unemployed since the day I turned 16 and now we're just trying to figure it out.
