The club is currently charging $300 a ticket for the worst seat in the stadium July 8th vs. Inter Miami by marleyman3389 in DCUnited

I theoretically agree, its absurd and not fair. But this is reasonable in the sense that this is what people pay to see Taylor Swift or whatever other global sensation there is.

I think it should be a lottery with actually reasonable price tickets so that everyone in community has a chance to go. But fat chance that happens.

Nefarious is in the eye of the beholder. I think if everyone knows right now Messi is not playing and are jacking up prices like 10X, its pretty fucked

I don't like this argument, cuz it serves the exact reason ticketmaster exists - to be the bad guy and shield the organizations that use them. Yes, ticketmaster sucks but the team are the ones who sell their tickets.

We shouldn't let the team off the hook for shady business shit like this (if thats what it is) because ticketmaster is hired to take the heat.

I've heard this too but nothing is confirmed. If the club knows this for certainty and are charging $300 for shitty seats... yikes

Wow, makes you wonder if they know something we don't? Maybe he will play at least a bit of the game?

If Messi actually doesn't end up playing you will probably be able to score cheap tix closer to the day of

Pick number isn’t important it’s quality of player you get. They aren’t the same thing. Draft class matters, the sens could be higher on this years.

Also, there is contractual stuff to consider too. How long do you have them on an ELC and how does that line up with other players on the team.

What I’m sayin is we could get back a lower pick # but it not necessarily be a worse return

Will Messi be in time to play against us on July 8 by Hawkeyez_ in DCUnited

It is a very weird situation. The club is releasing more tickets actively and undercutting the resale market by quite a bit, but they are still way more than what they would charge for the tickets (worst seats are being sold for $78 a ticket).

I guess they don't know if he will play or not? Or they know he won't but are just taking advantage of the situation? Honestly, seems like this caught people off guard which is surprising.

I can't believe he wouldn't be playing the first opportunity he has. Given the type of contract this is, its not like him playing is just for Inter Miami to be good. Its so he is out there promoting the league.

Its true if he was any player. But given the type of contract he is signing and who he is, every single game he is out there for counts enormously.
