Anyone else hate the purgatory we're in re. AF's future? by the-boxman in arcadefire

I didn't even think of that. They have filmed practically everything they've ever done.

Just based on comments by both parties, I have a feeling Nigel and the band won't work together again.

The Last of Us is more of a third person, survival/action game.

Wow. What was it like seeing that?

This is great. I find Licorice Pizza to be one of the most rewarding PTA films on rewatch. It reminds me of Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, in that it doesn't sanitise the past but still romanticises it in a way that feels like an honest portrayal of nostalgia, warts and all.

I think they do, but it's not entirely finished and they're not sure they want to release it when it is.

WE has tonnes of ideas, it's so spacious and ambient. But I want them to have a fuller sound next time with more bombast.

I also understand this perspective, because I know I'll never have the same relationship with the band. Maybe a longer hiatus is for the better.

Joel is a bit more stoic in the game, harder shell but still very vulnerable underneath. I agree about the infected. I wish we saw Ellie and Joel take on infected together even just once (I mean without any other tagalongs). You really feel them become a capable team in the game.

I do think though that your perspective is ripe for the second season. What you're feeling will pay off in some respects.

Now that the season is over... is it sweeping the Emmys? by ProfessionalEvaLover in ThelastofusHBOseries

I don't know when the awards season is but Barry is airing its final season next month and the previous 3 have been top tier television with some of the best acting I've seen. I reckon that'll really impress.

The pacing is a little more considered in the game but the switch Ellie being the talkative one to Joel is still pretty but understandably abrupt in the game. I actually found it really unsettling. It makes sense in both the show and the game considering the circumstances. Yes the trauma with David is part of it, another part is the nerves of what's going to happen in the Hospital.

What upcoming game are you MOST excited for? by FlashSnoopy in PS5

I'm both most excited and most nervous for Silent Hill 3 remake. I can't see it replacing the classic original for me but it's one of the best games ever made and I'm eager to play an updated version of the best story in gaming

Not yet but it's PTa's favourite novel and he's looking to cast with martial arts experience.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was their original intention.

I don't remember that. Spaceship is used in a lyric and they teased the album with a telescope and (iirc) a ghost emoji.

I think the tie-in didn't feel as impactful as it does in the game to the same University raiders.

Is Paul Thomas Anderson’s Mysterious New Movie an Adaptation of Pynchon’s ‘Vineland’? — World of Reel by [deleted] in paulthomasanderson

[–]the-boxman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Vineland is one of the most readable and fun Pynchon's and I dare say I would have preferred an adaptation of it compared to Inherent Vice. However I would prefer something completely different now he has already made a Pynchon adaptation. If he had to adapt another Pynchon, I'd love a crack at Mason and Dixon.

Am I the only one who prefers Part 2 over Part 1? by CADnCoding in thelastofus

I think Part 2 is better as well. Both are of an insane quality though.
