Yeah I would definitely swap turntables for the Fluance RT85. Comes stock with a 2M Blue and an acrylic platter for $500. Put that extra hundo towards speakers

Agreed. I can see a new version of a Switch coming out (like now we have OLED). Maybe a switch that comes with a new style of joycons, or some additional feature like a 3D Switch, but I don’t anticipate an entirely new system in the immediate future.

They got a good thing going with one system that can be both portable like a Gameboy or an entertainment system like Wii. Focus on software / games, more remasters, more IP… the Switch is great and I don’t think it’s yet run it’s course if Nintendo can continue to release good games for it. I think once the titles get stale, then people will look for something else

I really want an original pressing. I saw them in Southern California when the album came out and they tore the fucking roof off. I couldn’t really afford what the local record store was selling the white pressing for at the time when I was in high school, but adult me totally can!

Funny story-

I grew up watching a home-recorded VHS of Jim Henson’s Christmas special “The Christmas Toy”. I love that movie and have watched it every Christmas Eve for over 20 years. It had really awful cuts when my mom tried to stop and start recording around commercial breaks.

When I was in high school, probably in 2004, I found an official copy at a Big Lots of all places. I was born in ‘87, and the special came out a year before, so I already had a lot of memories watching my old VHS.

Come to find out there was an additional several minutes left in the video my mom had recorded over with The Smurfs Christmas special that I never knew existed. It blew my mind. Kind of inconsequential to the story, but you got to see all the new toys the main characters got and it was a really sweet ending.

That VHS is the sole reason I own a VHS player (and the original Star Wars trilogy). There’s been a subsequent DVD release, but the production company didn’t want to pay the rights to have Kermit the Frog in the special, so that VHS is the only copy I’m aware of that exists in its entirety
