I experienced this when I was much younger than I am today. Long before I discovered what demisexuality was and a long way off before I really figured out who I am a person. Now, I'm not in anyway saying this is what happened with you in your case , but I found that with myself, when I had these experiences meeting new people what I thought was being friendly and curious was actually a bit on the cringe side of things and came off a bit aggressively in their eyes. I understand the eagerness of wanting to know more about someone, particularly if you feel that there can be a deeper connection there. But sometimes it can be off putting to the other party. I had some really awesome first conversations with some great people, but I came on too strong in subsequent conversations and got dropped. It sucks to be ghosted and I'm sorry that happened. Again, I'm not saying this is what happened here, though it could be a perspective to consider.
