the band has spoken since the release of FTPOF (and before) that they had more material

Aaron discussed in interviews the decision making process with Matt for what was selected to be released first

I don’t agree that this was announced out of nowhere or that there was very little build up, unless you aren’t a follower of the band

they have been debuting almost all of these songs live on tour and they even most recently released the studio versions of Alphabet City and Space Invader

It was never a question of if but when they would all see a proper release together

worst kept surprise ever

I love FTPOF but damn if I didn't have the biggest shit eating grin listening to Laugh Track all the way through

loved hearing Deep End having been there for the tour debut

the only song I didn't connect with on first listen was Dreaming

Smoke Detector is even more frantic on record than it was live and an incredible way to wrap up this masterpiece (expecting the haters to moan for a whole album like this song which they have never done)
