Saint Mayorkas permits an indulgence again. by [deleted] in fednews

I finally used 8 of 56 hours of Mayorkas leave I have backlogged, 48 of which expire this year. At least I should be able to save these for 2024.

Decking question by caseyl120 in HomeImprovement

It's 20 feet wide, but how long is it? Is diagonal decking an option? Depends on your joist spacing. You can see my post history to see how mine came out.

Help Fixing Back Stairs by cerology in DIY

I would replace the wood ledger board under the door where the stairs connect then use proper joist hangers and three stringers (ends and mid). Like this guy. Probably want to use lag screws to attach the ledger board to the rim joist.

How to fix this failing pier supporting my driveway by Weary-Map9384 in HomeImprovement

According to this site, the live load requirement for a parking garage is 40 psf. Probably Maybe no snow load concerns being depending on where in California. Building a deck to exceed that is certainly feasible, examples available here. I get the concern, but without details of OP's joist size and spacing, I wouldn't freak out as much as others are.

What are important things to consider when picking a deck company? by ZazyzzyO in HomeImprovement

The steel framing product I used (at the time was Trex, now New Castle Steel) comes with instructions, so it went together links an erector set. The installation guide is in their resources page. Trex also had YouTube videos for nearly each step. I also have a copy of Black & Decker’s Complete Guide to Decks on wood construction, but since I framed in steel it was of limited use. You can also search for a pdf of the Prescriptive Residential Wood. Deck Construction Guide.

Game needs an ending, even if its a still shot. Maybe one of a ticker tape parade or something appropriate for a Apollo mission return? Also, space missions are very planned - recommend a mission "briefing" ahead of each mission to show an overview of all objects.

This is solid advice. Strange that you’re getting downvoted. There are books and videos out there on designing decks, and even products that come with directions to the point where anyone can even build it themselves (see my post history for mine). Always better to be educated. OP might decide to DIY after getting quotes.

Agar is also known as agar-agar. I just copied the recipe from OP's youtube video, though.

I wouldn't recommend getting involved with anyone you work with unless you plan on leaving that job.

Roundup is glyphosate. OP, you can buy concentrated glyphosate for much cheaper than RU brand. Just dilute to appropriate strength.

Moving the droop nose of a Concorde by AbatNaBitin in interestingasfuck

According to the expert at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, in Cambridgeshire, the Concorde nose originally went to 17.5 degrees. This was considered too steep, so they changed it to 12.5 degrees.

Has anyone built a pergola with a relatively sturdy retractable wall/shade? by airborness in HomeImprovement

Might be worth looking at products from KE Outdoor Design. They make pergolas and awnings and have some retractable products.

I just took a PVC cap and screwed a hook into it myself. I used these hooks. Just make sure the conduit is slightly below the cap.

Found one of my old orders from 2018. Looks like I ordered (38) 12 ft. joists for $53.12 each. The whole order for most of the framing was $3,852.85. Maybe I ordered a bit more to complete the stairs and some other bits, but not a lot.

Cast only warranties the LEDs if you use one of their transformers. I did not and of the four that were installed in 2018, maybe one still partially works. The incandescent ones from 2011 I haven't touched at all and are just fine. Neither installers used the sleeve for under the bluestone caps, either, so I have to pop the stone off to remove and replace the lights. I'll just get the incandescent ones.

Here is the installation guide from New Castle. You'll need other tools like circular saw and clamps, but not a lot more. Take a look at it and how it might go together for your situation. If you want to PM me some questions on your layout, I'd be happy to help as much as I can.
