Yea, it was the last leg of my trip and by that point I wasn’t always trusting the GPS, which recommended going that way and I didn’t listen. I’ll know next time.

Yesss, I drove from Ontario to British Columbia to Montana back to NYS solo this spring - and Chicago traffic on my way back through the Midwest was the worst! And it wasn’t even a usual “rush hour” time. That whole corridor from like Minnesota to Indiana had a ton of truck traffic too, which was interesting. Still, it was all worth it for the stop in Wisconsin to get New Glarus beer.
