Hey everyone! I’m looking for a similar dress to this, I’ve checked my usual thrift stores a few times but I haven’t really found any luck yet surprisingly :( I’m wondering if anyone maybe has any links or knows where I might be able to find something similar? I’m mostly looking for the button detailing and muted floral colour palette and loose silhouette, obviously doesn’t have to be exactly the same but as close as possible would be lovely.

Seconding Red Gate. Green Auto Music and 648Kingsway have things as well sometimes. The Invisible Orange but they’re often sold out, and sometimes The Wise Hall. They all post what’s going on on Instagram. Red Gate does usually have things on Sundays but the crowd isn’t usually as lively as a Friday or Saturday night obviously

Oh absolutely, I think that’s also something that’s interesting with The Suburbs album as a whole especially compared to Funeral. Funeral ending on In the Backseat feels like a tragedy with catharsis and it’s heart wrenching but there’s no choice but to move forward. The Suburbs feels like a tragedy where there’s no choice but to move forward but it’s so much quieter and so much more hesitant. It feels tinged with a bit of denial to me almost

With Scenes from the Suburbs, something that really really stuck with me out of it was the ending shot. The way the car is driving away from the neighbourhood and is about to turn onto the main road, but stops right before feels really impactful. The way we never see it turn onto the main road and just have it cut to credits after lingering for a couple seconds feels like the best way that could have been done, in my opinion at least. I feel like if we had seen a shot of the car driving away, the impact wouldn’t have been as strong. The way it lingers feels like it ties back to those feelings of grief and struggling to fully move on. (Moving past the feeling vs “If I could have it back”)

Or maybe I’m completely overanalyzing or projecting a bunch haha
