I know this is an old post, but I just had to chime in. When I was doing Gopuff last year, I delivered to a guy who ordered, like, almost two dozen tall (~16oz) cans of Yerba Mate -- he ordered so many that we didn't have enough in stock and we weren't able to give him his full order (like, he ordered 20+ or whatever, but we only had 18 or something like that). Also, we didn't have those cardboard-and-plastic flat packs of Yerba Mate, so the people packing the orders shoved all the cans into one big plastic bag. I felt like Santa carrying a big bag of presents to his front door.

There was also another guy who never ordered anything weird, but he'd put in small orders of just a couple items 3+ times a night -- I'd pretty frequently get two of his orders in one night, and I could tell from driver comments that he was placing even more orders than that. It was really strange. It was a rich area, though, so maybe he just had the cash to do tons of orders...on the other hand, he never tipped. Really perplexing character.

god, it’s fucked up that we all have to go on reddit to crowdsource the answers to questions that gopuff should be answering for us in easily accessible official documents. like “is there a core driver system?” and “what am i getting paid?”

Me neither. I’ve only see one free shift on the app since mid-January and it was an 8pm shift that dropped at 8:45pm. Yet warehouses are understaffed with not enough drivers. It’s seriously getting unusable at this point.

I think you're right, actually. I found this gopuff FAQ that answers my question -- no, you don't get minimum earnings for an on-demand shift. RIP.

this guy sounds like a huge asshole! i'm genuinely sorry you've had to deal with him...what a creep! i don't think there's a way to decline orders on the app itself, but you might be able to talk to the people who pack the orders/organize them at the warehouse you work at. if they're understanding (and i hope they are!) they might be able to shuffle around the orders and give that weirdo to someone else (hopefully a guy?). i know they probably don't have a ton of control over who gets what order, but they might be your best bet. good luck, stay safe!

Thank you for posting this, I appreciate a perspective coming from customer service. I've wondered if there is a driver support line somewhere that I've been unable to find, so it's good to clarify that we've got to rely on the emails (as much as this sucks for both you, the reps getting mistaken calls, and us, the drivers, getting stonewalled by the company itself).

P.S. As someone who worked in a call center and is currently doing a lot of over-the-phone customer service in my primary 9-5 job, I really sympathize with how frustrating and tiring it can be to deal with angry callers. I know that reps aren't the enemy, you're just people caught up in the same bullshit as the rest of us, not getting the right resources from GoPuff. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info. I'm more concerned that my actual account number wasn't in the direct deposit info, so there would be no way for the money to get into my actual account. Also, if you don't mind answering, does your pay show up at midnight Thursday or does it show up later in the day on Friday?
