Ford had an initiative called the Good American school for immigrant workers. They had social workers who would kindly go to the worker’s houses and teach them how to cook a proper American meal, and teach them how to clean their dirty kids. They even got paid a stipend to be in that school! And graduation was a grand affair. They built a big stage prop cauldron, the American melting pot. Graduates of the American school show up in raggy old clothes from their native land (sombrero, cheongsam etc), crawl into the cauldron on stage, and proudly emerge in a business suit, with a diploma and a smile!

No shit, my mom is a history professor teaching decolonized history and comparative slave systems. Ford’s American school is one of her favorite anecdotes because it is just a flaming pageant of racism

Y’all I get snoozing every single night. I have a shiny Charizard and a shiny Charmander and like 9 Eevee. I’m so tired of it. I started putting my phone on the other side of the bed and still get snoozing. I haven’t gotten dozing even ONCE!

I didn’t know at the time but a zigzagoon in Emerald. A bunch of stars flew around it and I KO’d it with my lvl 80 Swampert. Took me years to learn my mistake.

Then it was Arceus. That cutscene in the Daybreak DLC where Mai shows you the zorua, I could see one was shiny in the actual cutscene and thought it was guaranteed but it wasn’t. Then of course I ended up getting heaps of them there. Managed to get like 3 in SV on release day somehow and now I’ve got about 4 in Sleep
