Eden's Garden: Any idea when they'll have another sale?? by ahundreddollars in essentialoils

[–]Cedric_Hampton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Australian sandalwood from Plant Therapy is good, as are the New Caledonian from Eden Botanicals and the Hawaiian from Miracle Botanicals.

I prefer the rose absolute from Plant Therapy, but it’s centifolia not damascena.

The jasmine sambac from Plant Therapy is close to Eden’s Garden.

Plant Therapy and Miracle Botanicals have sales and discounts more frequently than Eden’s Garden, so you might check them out.

NEW PRODUCT: Portable Diffuser with Travel Pack by Cedric_Hampton in PlantTherapyOils

I know these are intended to be used in cars, but I’m not sure how much I’d like the mist while driving. I have the PT crystal car diffuser and feel that’s just enough scent for such a small space.

It might be handy for a half-bath or a table too far from an outlet though.

That's Plant Therapy that does the month-long sale--July Customer Appreciation Month. The Eden's Garden's anniversary sale is more like 10 days.

Best nature/petrichor smells for a beginner by Hambo- in essentialoils

A petrichor scent probably isn't possible using only essential oils. But you can definitely create some great nature smells using woodsy oils like fir, spruce, cedarwood and cypress and earthy EOs like vetiver, patchouli, spikenard, and carrot seed.

There are some "rain" blends out there, like Fall Rain and Rainy Days from Plant Therapy.

A great forest scent is the Cedarwood Spruce blend from Eden's Garden.

I searched my last couple of years of emails, and I'd say it won't be until about June 22, which is when they always have an anniversary sale (usually 20% site-wide).

EG seems to do a sale around the middle of January, then toward the end of June for their anniversary and finally the big holiday sale between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

In 2019, they had a fall sale around September 22, but they didn't have that last year.

Just curious, but what oils are you looking at buying?

What Scent Are You Wearing Today? by MidnightBlue43 in PlantTherapyOils

[–]Cedric_Hampton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's too bad PT has jacked up the price. It was $14.97 recently, but now it's $49.97! That is more in line with what other companies like Eden's Garden charge for Damiana, but still...

It's OK until you can't shake hands because you have carpal tunnel syndrome from zipping up your own dress now that Gary's gone.

Ok, now that I’ve finally been able to sit down today, I’m treating myself to a blend of Damiana, Rose Absolute and Patchouli. Divine and oh so sexy!

I have to confess the only scent I’m wearing today is Zit Fighter because I woke up with a pimple.

New Portable Diffusers Coming Tomorrow by Cedric_Hampton in PlantTherapyOils

[–]Cedric_Hampton[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got this email from PT:

“Our new Portable Diffusers and Travel Blend are launching tomorrow. Bookmark our diffuser category and be the first to order!”

They first hinted about these before Christmas. I think it will probably go live on the site at 9:30am Mountain Time.

Anyone else considering purchasing one of these? I hope they come in other colors besides the rose gold finish.

I'm sure they are, as Ho Wood is a common substitute for the endangered Rosewood. It just doesn't have that strong of a scent, so I suppose PT thought geranium (which is often used to adulterate rose) + ho wood = rosewood.

Monkey grass essential oil by 0rdinaryname in essentialoils

It looks like there have been some scientific studies of that oil, but I don't believe it's produced commercially.

Plant Therapy will overdo it with the spearmint in their blends too. If a blend has spearmint, I won't order it because I know it will be overwhelming.

Congrats on cutting the cord!

Both Plant Therapy and Eden's Garden are good. Plant Therapy has better discounts and rewards and offers more essential oil-based products like household cleaners, but Eden's Garden has a wider variety of oils, plus their blends are generally much better formulated IMO. I also order regularly from Miracle Botanicals, Pompeii Street, Eden Botanicals and Nature's Gift.

Align is the Eden's Garden blend and Self Esteem is the Plant Therapy equivalent to YL Valor. I've never smelled the actual Valor blend, but I would think Eden's Garden is closer, as they actually use rosewood oil.

You use olive oil that you would cook with? I've heard of people doing that, but I've never tried it. It seems like such a heavy oil. I usually stick with jojoba for most things.

I also didn't know you had to use carrier oil with diffuser bracelets!

I'm interested in Beeswax Absolute by kaleidoscopic_prism in DIYfragrance

[–]Cedric_Hampton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no beeswax essential oil. AromaWeb mentions beeswax CO2 extract, but I've never seen it for sale anywhere, only the absolute.

A good place to get the absolute is Eden Botanicals. The product page has more info on how to use it.

Sounds great! Do you use the Vanilla Botanical Extract from Plant Therapy?
