[SISI] 'Mobile' Deployables banned in Jita by shellashock in Eve

Reinforcement timers are really important, and one of the best things in EVE. They just shouldn't be on mobile depots. Or if they are, they should be implemented differently.

Legendary survivor done as in the good ol' days. by GravGRV in GuildWars

[–]CueCueQQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was more of just making a joke about how people used to do it. Still haven't done Survivor myself, I find it a rather frustrating title to go after. I got over 1m XP on one attempt just by skill capping, but after that one died(and this was before the update), I haven't attempted it again.

So you grinded Kilroy Stonekin over and over and over and over again?

Toon is another word for your character.

Cyno is short for cynosural field. Cynos allow ships with jump drives to jump directly to the field, meaning they bypass the gates to get into system. Most ships with jump drives are capital ships or larger, though there are a few battleships that have them. Cynos are visible on the overview and only certain ships can light cynos.

Finally had my first use of a baton. by -TipMeBAT- in OnTheBlock

[–]CueCueQQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a couple of UoFs that came out OK, but I was rather hard on myself about, I've come to the conclusion you don't touch a tool until it's ready to use, and you are ready to use it.

Don't strip your cuffs out until they're turned away and hands behind their back. What if they don't comply, you have to put it away, then go for what you need to gain compliance.

Don't pull your OC unless you're going to pull and deploy. Had a colleague who got caught in the threatening cycle because of that. He pulled and put it in the guy's face, then didn't spray.

Since the baton has an extra step to deploy, it's OK to deploy and then reassess the situation if they back off, as long as when you deployed it, you were prepared to use it.

Combat probes scare off the hunted. When combat probing, your advantage is found in speed, so get your probing skills up. They're long trains, but getting them to V really does help; if you want to cheap out, go 5/4/4/4. Get good at using dscan to narrow down your area so you don't have to do a wide pass.

Pochven Entry Manual by DebesSparre in Eve

Yea, I saw that, but have no idea how to go about finding such an event. What were they doing, why were they doing it?

Now if only there was an actual point to trig space, that'd be nice.

This guide is to show people how they can get in and raid either the environment or the people there.

I'd be rather interested to know more about this. What do people actually do in Pochven? I live in a C4, and we have somewhat often found connections to Pochven(both R081 and F216), but very little seems to be going on in system when I've checked. Presumably there's something better than some good mining in there right?

Uniform parts, unattached gear, and sunglasses are all things I've had go missing at work. And let's be honest, if I find you with my pen, I have no words for you. The state gave me a can of pepper spray for a reason.

True heir of Timur possible? by Giogiu3900 in eu4

[–]CueCueQQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did True Heir of Timur prior to Emperor, but you can find my playthrough of it here. I'm not sure how much you can learn from that for your current run, but just at a glance, it appears you have more land than I did in 1475, but lack some of the vassals I had. Vassals are useful because they supply free manpower, and siege down stuff you don't care to do yourself. Improvements I'd make from my run would be better ruler luck for my idea groups, and pushing north to fight Bahmanis and Vijayanagar earlier. That sure looks like a lot of corruption this early though, something to keep in mind.

We Were Trained to Hate These Changes by Arde- in Eve

Fuck all dies in wormholes (on average >4T/month over the last 2 years)

As a wormholer, I want to hate you for this, but you're not wrong. CCP has done a very poor job of handling WH space, and no where does it show better than PvP numbers. There used to be so many brawls in WH space, but now I'm making chains that would put Charlotte and Nellie to shame just looking for a Heron to gank.

despite consistently pumping 12 trillion as an isk sink every month.

You mean faucet right? Blue loot is a faucet like bounties, skill books are a sink.

Drifter holes being the ones with the structure around them in special J-space systems, or in k-space systems with the observatory stuff. They are deadspaced, unless that changed whenever Trig holes changed. There aren't rats camping the hole like Trig holes. There are roaming drifters that will warp around the holes, much like a C5/C6 system that has had drifters popped but not killed, which is I guess what you meant. I don't really know what's on the k-space side though, never jumped one.

[–]CueCueQQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drifter wormhole / Triglavian wormhole. They are deadspaced and will have rats roaming the wormhole. Both sides. Proceed with caution.

Drifter holes don't have rats. I think you meant to say that but the way you said it was just a bit ambiguous.

Other minor fact, trig wormholes apparently no longer land you at 70km off the hole if you BM the hole. Learned that the hard way the other day. Dunno if that's true of drifter holes too or not.

People who get themselves into serious financial trouble don't do so because of lack of funds. A poor person living paycheck to paycheck is unlikely to get themselves into serious debt as they can't get a loan worth many thousands of dollars in the first place. Having debt isn't the issue for security clearance anyway. The issue is not paying on that debt. Everyone understands you have a house, two cars, medical debt, and student loans. As long as you're making payments towards that debt, you aren't likely to lose a clearance over it. Stop paying that debt, and you are.

While I don't entirely disagree with you about the general financial situation of the US, and would absolutely agree that some government positions are underpaid(I want a raise is what I'm saying); it's also not why people end up in debt beyond what they can afford, and it's not why people end up selling state secrets.

I've seen some builds that should be able to handle it, and seen videos of them making it look pretty easy too. Just haven't had the motivation to try it again after I spent so much time and effort trying to make it work with my own builds.

I still have some of the weird builds I tried for it too. Things like Mesmers with half a resto rit on it.

[OC] Law Enforcement Officer Deaths by Year by trollman_falcon in dataisbeautiful

[–]CueCueQQ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not so easy. Some departments have done exactly that, but still aren't seeing a great outcome. Because cops will hide or downplay their issues with the therapist. Officers fear reprisals for seeking help in those situations. Sure, they can't be fired for it, but did you want that PERT/SRT/SWAT slot? Too bad, you can't get it now. Promotions go out the window too. And of course the reason will never officially be because you sought out mental health, it'll just be "we found better candidates".

[OC] Law Enforcement Officer Deaths by Year by trollman_falcon in dataisbeautiful

Source data is from ODMP, which only includes on duty deaths, or ODD. Additionally, not all departments report to ODMP, and many departments don't consider COVID-19 deaths to be ODD unless there is a direct line of exposure to a known COVID positive person. I know of one department who has gone so far as to say that the reporting party(the person who called 911), or the suspect has to have COVID in order for the infection to be duty related. Meaning that speaking to a witness who's COVID positive doesn't constitute an infection source that is considered duty related.

[–]CueCueQQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ODMP will include a death of a retired officer as an ODD if the cause of death was related to an on duty incident. For example, there's an officer's death from a few years ago that's on ODMP. He died of complications from a surgery, but the initial injury was in like, the 1980s.
