What are you smoking that makes a 2.5 hour each direction trip on three forms of public transportation for 30+ days of federal grand jury duty reasonable? Seriously, think about what you just said. Do you really think it’s ok?

Even for Federal? Then what the hell are they doing sending me the summons for?
Bit of a rant, but I just received a Federal jury summons for the Long Island Federal Courthouse in Central Islip, NY aka all the way over in Long Island.
I live in North Williamsburg near the Bedford Ave L train and do not have a car. Google tells me this would be 2.5 hours each way WITH an Uber ride at the end of the journey.
Has this ever happened to anyone? What an absolute nightmare.
Yes, apparently if I live more than 90 mins away I can get a change of venue to the downtown Brooklyn courthouse, but 1) there is nowhere on the website to do that, 2) you have to snail mail them a letter and wish for the best, and 3) can't they just do it properly the first time?
