All programmers still know nothing, that's why we're so scared of making changes that we need to test our code before shipping.
It's an idea, not something you need to code top to bottom for every feature. Use parts of it as necessary without overengineering.
After you get good at this it's much faster as writing only code without tests. It's a skill so you get better with practice.
