I would say the first three episodes were terrible in terms of writing :
Sabine being stupid to move the plot multiple times and acting like a whiny brat while being in het thirties.
Stupid jeux de boules ball that had to be turned which only Sabine could know.
Ahsoka scene in that tomb taking way too long.
Sabine surviving stabbed
Sabine getting trained while having zero force sensitivity
Sabine rematching shin while she easily outclassed last time
The fast travelling of Sabine in the woods
The new republic being stupid and straight lying about no proof of danger while in the first episode two sith like people kill a while ship.
The new republic lying about their resources because the came with 3 starships to pick up hera
It's an enjoyable show, but it still has a lot of dumb writing, and the packing is also quite bad.
The Matt lines that made me fall in love with his writing allowed vagueness to live within specific detail. In these recent outings it almost feels like we are going in circles in terms of themes used and even words used.
You hit the nail on the head. In the last two albums Matt's lyrics are slowly delivered and are combinations of the following phrases and words:
You don't know
I don't know why
I cry/ I die
(You don't know how much) I love you
I can't believe
Everything is so on the nose. It makes the music so much more boring compared to earlier slower songs like Pink Rabbits, Wasp Nest, Nobody Else Will Be There, Slipped. This is why Send For Me is one of my favorites of Frankenstein and why This Isn't Helping and The Alcott are my least favourite The National songs ever.
Agree on Dreaming, Coat on a Hook and Crumble. Seems like unfinished songs and very repetitive.
I see Send For Me as top 3 on Frankenstein. Love it as a kind of hopeful lullaby ending
But Batman vs Superman is and Flash too? Confusing
Where is The Batman?
