This very old ice was once thousands of meters below the surface, but has since been folded and forced to the surface as it flows against the topography of the Alan Hills. Here is a source with a cross section diagram that should clear things up! Pretty strange to consider ice flowing and deforming, but it does over longer timescales.

The unit often used in oceanography for flow rate is the Sverdrup (Sv). One Sv is one million cubic meters per second. Figure 3 in their paper shows time series projections of the strength of these overturning circulations measured in Sv, with a ~40% decline in Antarctic and ~20% decline in Atlantic deep water formation by 2050.

As mentioned in another comment, one of the most robust features of model projections is a narrowing ITCZ. Though agreement in the direction of meridional shifts between different models has been lacking. A few recent articles have gone beyond the global zonal-mean ITCZ picture and have found longitudinally variable ITCZ shifts in response to greenhouse gas forcing that are consistent across models:

Overall, these papers suggest that the direction the ITCZ shifts in response to GHG forcing will be basin-dependent.

While I was vacationing in Belize a few years back I had lobster that was cut in half lengthwise and grilled. It was delicious! Not sure if that is how it is always done though.
