How to best film podcast by QtotheM in podcasting

We have a 3 camera setup with Sony a7R cameras. These cameras also only record 30 minute intervals but we found a simple situation of purchasing 3 Timer Remote Control Shutter Releases for the cameras. We basically set the timers to record in 30 min intervals and overlap the recording time per camera. That way at least one camera is always recording at all times and when we edit the final video, we just cut to a camera angle that was recording while the other one is resetting from the remote timer. Without breaking the self-promotion subreddit rule, you can check out our podcast videos in my profile page to see an example if you had any questions, more than happy to help! :)

Alameda has a huge variety of breweries and wineries located in the abandoned naval stations. Also a few good bars and beer gardens throughout it's city

Hello! I listened to the episode you linked. I’ll try to answer your feedback questions as best as possible with relating to your podcast but might cross over into general podcasting advice as well 🙂

I’m glad that you were able to rename the podcast, I think that will help you in the long run since you won’t be limited to just your company. The podcast name is very related to sports so anyone will understand right away what they’re about to get into.

To answer your question on how to build your show’s popularity, I would suggest a few things but also know that these suggestions vary per person and podcast. I think you’re already doing something right by posting your podcast on Reddit and other social media platforms. Reddit is great because you can find other subreddits that are sports related where you can promote yourself. I would suggest finding some that look good to you and start interacting with the community in those subreddits. If there’s an opportunity to bring up your podcast naturally, go for it.

Since you mentioned the guests aren’t bringing in large numbers, I would focus on the conversation highlights first. Try picking some highlights from each conversation that you enjoyed and make some quick one minute snippets for social media. One example I heard was “If you're the Cleveland Browns? What is your top priority in this year’s Draft?” If you make a clip with that and write that as the title on a YouTube short for example, you’ll hopefully get sports fans interested to check it out. And the YouTube algorithm will also pick the clip title with “Cleveland Browns” and recommend your clip to others who are also interested in the Browns. Just an overall suggestion for making clips of your content.

As far as being with a co-host, I actually thought you had good chemistry with each other. Especially near the end of the episode when you were going through the mailbag segment. So from an outsider perspective, I thought it sounded fine! Hope that helps and great job overall! :)

Thank you so much for checking out the episode and for your feedback, truly appreciate it! Thanks for your suggestion on the introductory conversation, we have implemented something similar to your feedback with our spin-off podcast but really appreciate the advice. I'll check out your post as well but thank you once again for taking the time to listen to our episode :)

Hello! I copied over your questions and provided my feedback below each question, and then just provided my overall feedback.

- Is the pacing on track, or did it feel dragging?

I don't think it was dragging necessarily but since this was my first time listening to the podcast, I wasn't familiar with the format. Based on your podcast description above, I thought it was just going to review a song or certain songs, I wasn't expecting you to go through a retrospective of the musician. I would say that was the only part that felt a bit long because I wasn't expecting it, but if retrospectives happen on every episode, I think it works well for your regular listeners.

- How likely would you listen again or recommend it to others?

I would probably listen again if its a musician or song I'm interested in. I would recommend the podcast to my friends who enjoy similar music review podcasts.

- Does modern songs grab your interest or are older songs something you would tune in for?

Probably both but again just depends on the musician or song I'm familiar with. I think having a mix of new and classic music will help you attract different generations of listeners.

Overall I enjoyed the chemistry with the hosts. Not sure if you're recording remotely or on location but either way it felt like you've known each other for a while and are genuine friends. I just subscribed to your YouTube because I'm one of the weirdos that like listening to podcasts on YouTube lol. Nice work and thank care! :)

Ah thank you so much! Since we're an art podcast we tried out a different format for the video version since we wanted to provide visuals for our guests' artwork, and then provide a longer audio version for those who prefer a traditional podcast format. Truly appreciate your time and feedback, it means a lot. I'll check out your post as well, thanks again!
