Your bid is showing the highest for your region, but the sales list is showing all sales for all regions. So raise it to something closer to the lowest ask, which is definitely someone selling that at least has the capability of having their sale match with someone in your region.

How are people selling for £111 when lowest ask is £114? Also how are some people selling for way above lowest ask? by Shoddy_Firefighter_2 in stockx

[–]robalesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check the sales list on something other than mobile, you'll see asterisk next to certain sales. That means those sales are outside of your region and subject to different duties/taxes/fees than your sales/purchases would be. For some reason anything beyond the normal fees/shipping stockx incorporates into the accepted bid price of the completed sales list. If you check out other posts on this sub, you'll see this question is asked and answered several times a day on average.

They're up. But you're not gonna make much selling them if you got them for retail +shipping.

So can I trust what I get from StockX? I wanted to get a few pairs, but I see so many iffy posts that I’m suspicious about it. by Environmental-Ad6865 in stockx

[–]robalesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say out of the hundreds of pairs, maybe 1 or 2 had issues. And those were cosmetic more than authenticity. But they made good on those after talking with customer service.

I'm not saying they're perfect, just sharing my experience as a lot of folks on here would have you believe it's a coin flip as to if you're getting a legit pair or not, and that's just not the case. Again, in my experience.

There are only really 3 options here.

Raise your bid. Buy at the lowest ask. Keep your bid where it is and be patient.

If the release was today I'm honestly surprised it's not already up there. Shouldn't take long.

Appreciate that but it's all good. Ended up selling them in person at a SneakerCon for more than the StockX payout so all's well that ends well.

My J1 origin stories were declined verification for yellowing of the icy soles, so I think it's a toss up. Really comes down to that specific authenticator on that day answering the question "will the person getting these be complaining to customer service upon getting them in hand?"

"Aginibep" is how my grandmother would pronounce Acini de Pepe, the very, very small pasta pearls she'd cook with chicken stock and a bit of pecorino romano and sometimes a beaten egg until it was very thick and porridge like. This was for basically any type of cold/flu/etc or even as baby food. It was a snow day staple in my house growing up.

Does StockX care about smell? by West-Inevitable6335 in stockx

[–]robalesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they care about smell but not in the way you're thinking. They're not going to care about a lack of smell, but they will care about the presence of a smell like tobacco, 420, body odor, etc.

There's a bunch of fund raising compilations from New Orleans Jazz and Heritage radio station WWOZ that are incredible.

BTW, everyone should listen to WWOZ. It streams on WWOZ.org and it's the best radio station in the nation.

Why is my size (size 7) always so expensive compared to larger sizes? by WeebyKeeby in stockx

[–]robalesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the release. I'm a size 13 and very often have to pay a premium in the resale market because they simply produce fewer pairs in my size and up. Same with 7 and below. Fewer pairs, less supply without too much less demand.

Has anyone ever been able to discover the reason they drank too much, eliminated that reason and been able to quit drinking? by TrustTheDreamer in alcoholism

[–]robalesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I couldn't muster the power to stop/regulate/correct my drinking on my own, I didn't have enough power. So i needed something with more power than myself to enter the situation and help me stop, yes.

That might be what you need. And at least from my own experience, that's what AA and working the steps provided. Your mileage may vary, but I would give one piece of advice. Rather than try and figure out the perfect path forward before you set one foot on that path, just start walking in the general direction of "better than yesterday" each day. Try AA. Try therapy. Try ANYTHING.

Has anyone ever been able to discover the reason they drank too much, eliminated that reason and been able to quit drinking? by TrustTheDreamer in alcoholism

[–]robalesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it depends on what you'd call a "spiritual awakening." If you mean like a born again Christian kind of thing, which I think a lot of people think the language of the steps mean, and keeps them away from AA, then no. I was probably more "religious" before I got sober.

10 years sober I probably know less about WHAT god or a higher power is, and much more THAT god or a higher power is. Like I know without a shadow of a doubt that there are benevolent things out there that are more powerful than me. Maybe it's an actual creator of the universe kean on trying to intervene in a way that makes me have the ability to not drink a handle of vodka every other day. Maybe it's my own higher self, my full potential. Maybe it's the group which makes an environment that helps people get and stay sober. So if know that think at least feels real to me now, and acknowledging that something bigger than myself had to enter my life and help me is a spiritual awakening, then sure.

But the real moment for me was the moment everything came crashing down around me and all in one moment I couldn't fake it anymore. My job called me out, my family found out about the extent of my use, I realized I hadn't been as "functioning" as I thought I was. In that moment I was able to finally feel like I wanted to stop. And then I asked for help and followed directions. I was finally willing to admit I had no control and I wasn't going to be able to bargain with myself or do any half measures. I needed to surrender and just start listening to others who had been there before me and got better.

The steps I did just to keep the momentum going and clean up some of the damage I had done that was keeping me in this guilt and self pity spiral.

So based on what you wrote, I think your question might be a bit vague as written. But if I'm understanding correctly, you'd like to, through one means or another, discover some kind of root cause for your drinking, and assuming that's something that can be "removed" from your life, remove it and totally abstain from alcohol moving forward? Am I getting that right?

Assuming so, I'd venture to say, sure. There are people who have been able to do that. Maybe they drink because of some trauma in their past and once they've gone through enough therapy or other means to process that trauma, move past it and cease drinking to cope.

Perhaps they drink because of environmental causes like they work in a alcohol heavy environment, or live with people who are drinking constantly, and once they get out of that situation, they are able to stop.

For myself, I found that I couldn't stop drinking through any means of self discovery or knowledge. I had a lot going on at once. I liked the feeling i got when i was drinking. I liked that drinking made me feel my trauma less. I was physically dependent on it to feel "right." I had incorporated drinking so thoroughly into my routine that it felt impossible to remove.

So there wasn't one thing in particular I needed to discover or change that would work. It had to be a LOT of things at once. I needed to be physically removed from alcohol for long enough that I could get my mind right and even have a chance at living without it. I needed to process my trauma and clear out the shit from my past that caused my mind to think that a drink was the easiest way to feel ok about myself. I needed to change some things about my long term situation and surroundings in order to break the routine that I had incorporated so drinking so thoroughly into.

For me that meant rehab for a couple months followed, attending meetings and working the steps of AA.

That's not to say that's the only way. Like I said there are people that can figure out a root cause, remove that cause, and then are able to stop on their drinking on their own. But i will say this, basically everyone when first contemplating how to address their drinking problem asks themselves "how can I do this and change the least amount of what I consider normal about my life?" That's very normal. But just be prepared that if you're far enough down the rabbit hole where alcohol is really negatively affecting you, it might take more effort on more fronts than you initially want to admit.

Best of luck to you.

If you're peeing blood, something inside you is literally bleeding internally. This isn't a chicken soup, some water, and some rest situation. This is what some would call a wake up call.

Backdoor pairs. Early Access. Shit people were selling the Lost and Founds MONTHS before any official drop if memory serves. It's less about the date of the drop and more about the date of production. Some of these releases that don't drop anywhere official till later in the year have been sitting in a warehouse for a while already. Where there are pairs that exist, there are people that exist that know how to get their hands on them VERY early. Some of those people are just looking to flip them first to maximize profits.
