DIY spray paint T-shirt
That was years ago... but it was pretty straightforward. I just cut out the stencil and sprayed bottom half of it with black to create the black-on-white section, then overlapped the pieces I cut out to mask off the top half and oversprayed again it left the top part as white-on-black. Pain in the ass, but it worked.
Who is going to Mexico City?
I’ve been wringing my hands over this for months. Such a great lineup, and I really want to go, but going to Mexico City not speaking Spanish by myself seems a bit insane. Now, if all of us could collectively rent the floor of a hotel and charter a bus we’d be all set! 😆
What's your favorite Arcade Fire lyric?
As a whole, I think that song has the best lyrics although there are certain phrases in other songs that may stand out more.
What's your favorite Arcade Fire lyric?
Not at all my favorite song or lyrics but your take on it is wonderful and seems right on the mark.
What's your favorite Arcade Fire lyric?
Simplest and yet most profound lyric from arguably their best song.
100 Greatest Indie Rock Bands - Arcade Fire #5
While I like/love most of the bands on this list it is the most random and exclusionary list I've ever seen. I could add about 20 bands on the list that are way more important/influential/awesome than at least half on there. No way in hell are the Smiths #1. New Order, The Stranglers, Killing Joke, etc... AF is definitely top 5 though.
What's your say on Funeral?
Thank you for saying that. It's an unpopular opinion but I'm with you, although Reflektor is a close second for me. Not that Funeral isn't phenomenal, but The Suburbs as an album is nearly perfect. But Afterlife is by far their best song.
Taking the stage at Cala Mijas
Why the FUCK didn't I just jump on a plane for this?!?!? From all the videos I'm seeing tonight you guys saw an amazing show!
Taking the stage at Cala Mijas
best!
Win out of stage @ Cala Mijas
I saw this post and even though I wasn't there I knew it was Afterlife before I even played the video 😆
So, why no live performances of Abraham's Daughter?
It’s not my favorite song but it’s very familiar to so many people who aren’t even AF fans. It’s got such a dramatic building sound and association with the movies. I think it would be wild to see it live. Certainly a unique and bold choice.
Anyone have the video Win references at 15:01 of the piano cutting out at Bowery after saying 'Hey David" ?
Wait! I DID capture it! Now that I watch it again his response was a bit too immediate to have me think it was a mistake. I think they may have planned it. https://photos.google.com/album/AF1QipPk9L97oJhpkvdhpEh94tfGHQWe5oDb4A3deUnO/photo/AF1QipPDLiMFk12ZO21_x9b0E5_0nU7OC-qs39bKdwyI

It was during Rabbit hole. It was right at the beginning. I videoed it but I think I started after that point. It definitely happened though. I remember thinking it was weird and awkward but just figured it was a technical glitch. Then I saw this interview and got a chuckle.
What’s your favorite song on each AF album?
City with no children was my all time favorite song of theirs for the longest time. Glad to see I’m not alone still not sure if I could pick just one from that album
Comment your favourite Arcade Fire album and why.
Me too! I’ve thought about asking people what their favorite album is versus what they think the best album is. You just summed up that conflict right there. I would say suburbs is the best but reflector is kind of my favorite. Of course funeral, neon Bible, and even we are all in the running. Everything now not so much.
AF added to festival in Virginia later this month
No one day passes and no schedule! Very annoying. I might consider going if I could go for just the day AF plays.
Well I feel like a dingus
Yes it does! Can’t remember how I found that but I remember reading two different versions.
Feist tells a bit of her story about why she dropped out from the WE tour. I have no opinion, but it's on many news sites, so might as well discuss.
Yeah so much is just the automatic news aggregator stuff. I have a google alert for Arcade Fire so I got bombarded with the same story all at once. I just don't even understand half of what's she's saying though. I have no idea what she means by "the songs weren't safe". Her songs? Their songs? And why? I'm regretting posting this now because I've just contributed to even more clicks for them. Still, I was hoping for more insight into what she actually said in the article. Preferably someone who can read the Irish Times article behind the paywall...

Really? I thought it was a new story because it popped up on about a dozen news sites yesterday. So lame. I guess it was just clickbait to use an old story to promote her new album coming out next week. I'm getting more and more cynical about how they are using this story to promote themselves. The whole thing stinks in so many ways.

Agreed. I thought the article title would show up. I'm reposting...
MEO Kalorama Lineup Confirmed!
Also from NY and very close to pulling the trigger if I can convince a few friends to join me!
Which song do you prefer?
Impossible decision. Those are their two best bangers. Someone recently posted a live show with one right after the other and I would love to see that live.
What is your favourite AF interview? Can be any band member.
Yeah, that was a really good one. I think it’s the most comprehensive one I’ve watched.
Post your favorite live version of one of your favorite songs
That show looked amazing, especially the crowd. Total joy! NCG was great but I really liked Afterlife right after even more.
Post your favorite live version of one of your favorite songs
Cool! Thanks for that! I gather you're not as insane of a fan as the rest of us on here, but the drum dude is Will Butler, brother of Win Butler (singer). He is no longer with the band but he is well know for his onstage antics, particularly for this song. If you dig that, you should check out some other earlier live versions of the song - some good ones a few posts back played right after Power Out. He always goes nuts. Never saw the head in the drum before though!
