Anyone have the video Win references at 15:01 of the piano cutting out at Bowery after saying 'Hey David" ? by zeisss in arcadefire

[–]onlyarcadefire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was during Rabbit hole. It was right at the beginning. I videoed it but I think I started after that point. It definitely happened though. I remember thinking it was weird and awkward but just figured it was a technical glitch. Then I saw this interview and got a chuckle.

What’s your favorite song on each AF album? by nickisgreaterthanyou in arcadefire

[–]onlyarcadefire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

City with no children was my all time favorite song of theirs for the longest time. Glad to see I’m not alone still not sure if I could pick just one from that album

Comment your favourite Arcade Fire album and why. by Dylanthecomicbook in arcadefire

[–]onlyarcadefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I’ve thought about asking people what their favorite album is versus what they think the best album is. You just summed up that conflict right there. I would say suburbs is the best but reflector is kind of my favorite. Of course funeral, neon Bible, and even we are all in the running. Everything now not so much.

No one day passes and no schedule! Very annoying. I might consider going if I could go for just the day AF plays.

Yes it does! Can’t remember how I found that but I remember reading two different versions.

Feist tells a bit of her story about why she dropped out from the WE tour. I have no opinion, but it's on many news sites, so might as well discuss. by onlyarcadefire in arcadefire

[–]onlyarcadefire[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah so much is just the automatic news aggregator stuff. I have a google alert for Arcade Fire so I got bombarded with the same story all at once. I just don't even understand half of what's she's saying though. I have no idea what she means by "the songs weren't safe". Her songs? Their songs? And why? I'm regretting posting this now because I've just contributed to even more clicks for them. Still, I was hoping for more insight into what she actually said in the article. Preferably someone who can read the Irish Times article behind the paywall...

Really? I thought it was a new story because it popped up on about a dozen news sites yesterday. So lame. I guess it was just clickbait to use an old story to promote her new album coming out next week. I'm getting more and more cynical about how they are using this story to promote themselves. The whole thing stinks in so many ways.

Here we go again. I have no opinion but we might as well take yet another look. by [deleted] in arcadefire

Agreed. I thought the article title would show up. I'm reposting...

Which song do you prefer? by memwall in arcadefire

Impossible decision. Those are their two best bangers. Someone recently posted a live show with one right after the other and I would love to see that live.

What is your favourite AF interview? Can be any band member. by Glittering-Owl22 in arcadefire

Yeah, that was a really good one. I think it’s the most comprehensive one I’ve watched.

That show looked amazing, especially the crowd. Total joy! NCG was great but I really liked Afterlife right after even more.

Cool! Thanks for that! I gather you're not as insane of a fan as the rest of us on here, but the drum dude is Will Butler, brother of Win Butler (singer). He is no longer with the band but he is well know for his onstage antics, particularly for this song. If you dig that, you should check out some other earlier live versions of the song - some good ones a few posts back played right after Power Out. He always goes nuts. Never saw the head in the drum before though!

no ubers. You might be able to get a taxi form Kingston but it will cost you a ridiculous amount of money and who knows how long it will be till you get one.

Wow what a great performance! So great to see so many of them all right up front as equals, especially Sarah and the other violinist. Also I never realized how much energy Will brought to the shows. Nobody rocks a tambourine quite like him. I hope they bring back horns and more of that ensemble type performance rather than the "Win and Regine" show. Hopefully that was just because of the type of album WE was. I have hopes for LP7.

Yeah you're probably right - I just read that the fan club sends individualized links for presale so unless I cough up the $50 I'll have to hope for the best at 2.

I am looking for an very chaotic ultra-specific live version of Neighborhood #3 Power Out by twind0ves in arcadefire

[–]onlyarcadefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's hard to make a flight like that just for a show, especially last minute. I know a bunch of fans on here went all over Europe for the WE tour. Must have been awesome to be able to do that! I've only got 3 live shows under my belt, all NYC from 2022. Hoping to somehow manage a trip to portugal to see them at the festivals there but probably a pipe dream.

I just started a thread asking people to post their favorite live performance of a favorite song - I'd love to see you post something cool from that show! I think I've actually watched that whole concert video on Youtube a while ago. I was not a serious fan until much later than NB so totally missed all live shows until the pre-WE secret shows and WE tour. Did you see them do the full NB album performance last year at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC? That was pretty great and someone just posted a clip from that show of Hey Orpheus.

I was at that show too! What a great show, and I’d forgotten how amazing it was to see Hey Orpheus live. And Regine wandering through the mezzanine was so cool. It really got across the theme of the song I hadn’t expected and of course, it seemed very poignant at that moment. It’s always been one of my favorite songs on reflector especially when the bass line comes in. Great choice!
