As a spurs fan, I miss him. I was so disappointed when we lost him, but I understand why we did. Good luck!

eli5 Is there a reason that the decimals of pi go on forever (or at least appear to)? Or do it just be like that? by AnotherDayDream in explainlikeimfive

and every real-world distance is an irrational number we are rounding for our purposes

This is the part I have a problem with. If anything, its the opposite: every measurement is either a whole number or ratio of whole numbers. Whatever your unit is, lets say an atom, there will be a finite number of them. From tip to tip of a pencil there is a finite number of atoms. Our units may be defined poorly, but that is a problem with our definition, it doesnt mean every distance is irrational. It sounds like you are saying we cant measure anything precisely (ok i agree) but concluding that uncertainty means its irrational somehow. Just because we dont know a number doesnt mean its irrational. In fact, I would say irrational distances dont exist.

Ecause I am talking about something exactly 1 ft long, so I get to define that how I want. Tip to tip, exactly 1 ft,not approaching irrational.

In my experience aggressive atheists do try to impose their beliefs onto others and can be pretty patronizing. Im not sure what you mean about atheists imposing logic, as far as I know the existence of god cannot be proven or disproven. There is more than enough room for a belief in god within the mysteries of the universe that have not yet been explained by science, even if that morphs over the centuries from a skyman with beard to some kind of cosmic consciousness. I am a firm proponent of science, but lets be real, existence itself is bizarre no matter one's beliefs.

In my experience, aggressive atheits have had a bad experience with aggressive Christians, and so have gone in the complete opposite extreme, throwing the baby out with the bathwater as if it is a binary all or nothing choice. Theism is not equal to Christianity, and definitely not equal to aggressive Christians, as the commentor above seemed to imply.

The site of the Alamo is supposedly pretty haunted.

I did not equate the two things you said, I equated the certainty that there is a God with the certainty that there is no God. Usually people on both of those extremes are closed minded and act like jerks. Both people in your example seem to be behaving like jerks, the problem is the first type tries to legislate their beliefs.

Really its the people who are certain on either side of the theism/atheism spectrum who are usually closed minded jerks.

Why are you being downvoted? This is pretty realistic. "No good cops and no good priests" is crazy extreme and counterproductive.

What is your least favorite AnCo song? (No intermissions) by sandcrawler2 in AnimalCollective

Exactly, I wouldnt hate it if it were a b side or unreleased. It just doesnt fit on the album well, especially in an important place like the closer.
